MultiCam is an advanced camouflage pattern, introduced in 2002 by Crye Precision, a US-based company, in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as part of the Objective Force Warrior program. The pattern's objective was to develop a versatile camouflage effective across different terrains and environmental conditions. Comprised of seven colors, the MultiCam pattern creates gradient transitions between shades of green, brown, and beige. This allows it to adapt dynamically to its surroundings, shifting to green hues in woodlands and browns and beiges in arid regions; it is especially effective in Central and Eastern Europe during autumn and among dry vegetation. MultiCam has achieved global acclaim and is employed by numerous armed forces and special units. In 2010, it was officially adopted by the US Army for soldiers in Afghanistan, replacing the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP).
