I put it on the outer loop of the Helikon Bandicoot waist pack, which makes it easier to attach carabiners without having to thread them through the loop. I'm sure it'll work well in a backpack, too.

A useful gadget. The cutout on the back makes it easy to mount on the rubber straps of various organizers or on the Molle system, and combined with a carabiner, it allows you to secure more valuable items from getting lost. You can also sew it onto a strap.

A useful addition to a belt or backpack, it can be used to attach various things. I bought it as a spare for my Sparrow backpack and it works very well. Solidly made and costs little.
