Unfortunately, the compass is unusable. There is a bubble in the liquid, which hinders rotation; although this can be managed to some extent by a bit of tapping, during storage the lighter’s striker may have become magnetized, because no matter which way I turn it, south is always the direction it points to. If I remove the metal plate, the compass points roughly north, but with about a 20-degree random deviation, which I suspect is due to the bubbles.
