Specna Arms Shortie-82 Radio

The Specna Arms Shortie-82 dual-band transceiver, designed in collaboration with Baofeng, is intended for tactical, outdoor, and everyday use. The model has a maximum transmission power of 5 W and operates in the VHF and UHF bands, providing a wide range of communication possibilities. The device features a dual-line LCD screen, DTMF keypad, Dual Watch function, and FM radio operating in the 65-108 MHz range. The set includes, among others, an antenna, Li-Ion battery, charger with a base, and PTT headset.

The transceiver features a solid body suitable for use in challenging field conditions. The large, backlit LCD screen allows for easy reading of operating parameters and status of active functions even in low light. The model is equipped with a DTMF keypad and dual Push-To-Talk (PTT) button, enabling transmission on two different frequencies. The device operates in temperatures from -20 deg.C to 60 deg.C, making it useful both in winter and summer. The set also includes a belt clip, making it easier to carry the transceiver.

The transceiver supports two frequency bands: VHF and UHF, allowing for communication in different ranges. The model is equipped with a Dual Watch function, which allows monitoring of two frequencies simultaneously, even in different bands, and automatically prioritizes the frequency with an incoming call. The device offers channel spacing adjustment in the range of 2.5, 5, 6.25, 10, 12.5, and 25 kHz.

The model enables connection of an external PTT headset, enhancing usability during tactical operations and work on the move. The transceiver can be programmed both directly from the keypad and via a computer.

The transceiver is equipped with a VOX function, allowing voice-activated transmission without using the PTT button. The model supports selective calling and CTCSS, DTC, and 1750 Hz tones, improving communication organization and minimizing interference. A keypad lock is also used to prevent accidental changes of settings.

The transceiver is powered by an efficient 7.4 V, 2800 mAh Li-Ion battery. Charging is done via a network charger and included charging base. The implemented power-saving mode minimizes battery consumption in standby mode.
