Specna Arms Shortie-82 Radio

A two-way radio designed by Specna Arms in collaboration with Baofeng. A 5-watt dual-band radio (also known as a “duobander”). The radio operates in two frequency bands: VHF and UHF. It features a large, easy-to-read two-line display, a DTMF keypad, an extensive menu, and an FM radio (65–108 MHz).

One of the innovative features available on the radio is Dual Watch, a dual monitoring mode. The device monitors two different frequencies, even across different VHF/UHF bands, and gives priority to the one on which an incoming call appears.

The model is equipped with a dual push-to-talk (PTT) button, enabling transmission on two frequencies. It is also worth mentioning the ability to connect a PTT headset.

The Shortie-82 also features a range of functions to facilitate identification, grouping, and operation, including the ability to program via the keypad or a computer, a keypad lock, selective calling, and the VOX function, i.e., voice-activated transmission. It is also equipped with a large backlit LCD screen that displays icons confirming the status of most built-in functions.
