Snugpak Special Forces 1 Standard Sleeping Bag - Black
Black, lightweight sleeping bag with a mummy design that provides comfortable body positioning and freedom of movement during sleep. It is made from Snugpack's proprietary materials, such as Paratex Steelplate, Paratex Light, and Softie Premier. The sleeping bag in standard size is 220 cm long when unfolded. The interior is equipped with a Reflectatherm layer that reflects body heat, significantly enhancing thermal comfort.
Temperatures and usage conditions
The Special Forces 1 model is designed as a one-season sleeping bag, suitable for use in positive temperatures and in warmer months. The temperature range for use is from 0 to 5 deg. C.
Material Paratex Steelplate and Paratex Light, DWR coating
The outer layer is made from Paratex Steelplate material, which ensures high breathability, wind protection, and high moisture resistance thanks to DWR waterproofing (Durable Water Repellency). Even on damp mornings, dew drops accumulate on the surface, not penetrating the sleeping bag. The interior is made from Paratex Light material, characterized by a soft structure, good wind resistance, and breathability of 12l/m2/24h. High breathability prevents moisture condensation in the sleeping bag, which can occur from body heat and lower ambient temperatures.
Under the inner layer is a metalized Reflectatherm fabric that reflects the heat generated by the body, increasing the sleeping bag's thermal efficiency by about 15%. Near the feet, there is a reinforced material section that enhances insulation and allows for sleeping in shoes without risking damage to the sleeping bag. Two small loops allow convenient hanging and airing of the sleeping bag.
Softie Premier filling
The sleeping bag is filled with Softie Premier material, ensuring good heat retention even in humid environments, and the soft structure of the material makes the sleeping bag pleasant to the touch. The special fiber construction of the filling allows for hand and machine washing.
The mummy design has been optimized to minimize heat loss. The absence of traditional through stitching eliminates the formation of thermal bridges, ensuring even insulation across the entire surface.
Two-way YKK zipper, adjustable hood
Two-way zipper by YKK is centrally placed, and on the inside, there is a protective strip that prevents the material from catching in the zipper and limits heat loss. The anatomically shaped hood enhances protection against head hypothermia.
Convenient transport and storage, Special Forces system
The model is easy to transport and store. When folded, the sleeping bag measures 16 x 16 cm, and its weight is 1200 g. A compression sack is included to protect against dirt and damage during transport.
The sleeping bag is part of the Special Forces system and can be combined with the Special Forces 2 model using an additional Zip Baffle strip, allowing for a set suitable for temperatures down to about -20 deg. C.

DWR (Durable Water Repellency) is a durable waterproofing treatment that increases the surface tension of water and creates a hydrophobic coating on materials. It protects the material from rapid soaking, improves drying, provides stain resistance and increases breathability.
YKK zippers are high-quality zippers commonly used in clothing and accessories, manufactured by the Japanese YKK Corporation - one of the world's largest zipper manufacturers.
Paratex Light is an advanced fabric used in outdoor clothing and equipment, distinguished by its lightness, windproofness and breathability. It effectively wicks away moisture, providing thermal comfort even in harsh conditions. In addition, it protects against wind and light rain.
Paratex Steelplate is an extremely durable fabric used in outdoor products such as sleeping bags and protective clothing, designed for extreme conditions. It is characterized by high resistance to abrasion, tearing and mechanical damage, while providing protection against strong wind and moisture. The fabric is also breathable, allowing it to effectively wick away moisture while remaining lightweight.
Reflectatherm is a technology developed to enhance the thermal insulation properties of clothing and sleeping bags. It involves the use of a thin layer of fabric with metalized dots that reflect the heat generated by the body back to the wearer. This reduces heat loss and thermal comfort is significantly improved. Reflectatherm increases the thermal insulation of the product by up to 15%, with minimal impact on weight and volume.
Softie Premier is a synthetic filling used in sleeping bags and outdoor clothing. It imitates the properties of natural down, offering excellent thermal insulation while remaining lightweight and resilient. Compared to standard Softie filling, the Premier variant is distinguished by increased durability, softness and elasticity. This makes it ideal for demanding conditions, providing the user with thermal comfort and durability even during intensive use.
