A map compass designed for precise navigation in the field using tourist and topographic maps. The baseplate construction with a transparent base allows accurate alignment of the compass with the map grid, while the integrated magnifying lens enables comfortable reading of fine cartographic details.
The compass needle is made of high-quality steel and mounted on a sapphire bearing, ensuring smooth and stable operation even while moving. The liquid-filled capsule features clear north–south markings and a declination scale, allowing correction of the difference between magnetic and geographic north. The angular scale in degrees and mils (360/6400) makes the compass suitable for both recreational tourism and more advanced navigation tasks.
The baseplate includes a set of scales adapted to the most commonly used maps, including 1:15,000, 1:25,000 and 1:50,000, as well as a millimeter scale. Fluorescent markings facilitate use in low-light conditions. The set includes a lanyard with a safety release, allowing convenient carrying around the neck or attachment to equipment.
