The saw is exceptional. It is light, not too big, and not too small. You can cut even thicker pieces of wood with it without any problem. In short – Silky is top class when it comes to tools. I have several different models from this brand and each one is like the Rolls-Royce of saws.
Silky F180-7,5 Folding Saw - Red
The Silky folding hand saw, produced by the esteemed Japanese brand, is crafted for accurate wood cutting. Equipped with a blade that has 45 large teeth made from high-carbon SK-4 steel and an ergonomic handle featuring a non-slip surface, it excels in garden tasks and forest fieldwork.
SK-4 carbon steel, chrome-plated blade, locking mechanism
The 180 mm blade is crafted from durable SK-4 carbon steel, renowned for its exceptional resistance to mechanical damage such as cracking or chipping. A chrome-plated finish offers protection against corrosion and moisture, significantly prolonging the tool's lifespan. The model features a blade lock that allows it to be adjusted in two positions, enhancing both comfort and safety during operation.

Silky is a Japanese manufacturer of hand saws with a long tradition, dating back to 1919, when Katsuji Miyawaki founded the company in the city of Ono. For over a century, the brand has gained a reputation for reliability and precision, and its tools are distinguished by their exceptional quality. The saws are made of the highest quality steel and undergo impulse hardening technology, which, combined with a design intended for ‘pull’ cutting, ensures smooth operation and precise, clean cuts. In 1980, Silky patented its own saw setting process, which significantly increases the sharpness of the tools – this solution has been used in the 4-Retsume and Miraime2 models, among others. The Japanese manufacturer's solutions are used by professionals around the world: arborists, foresters, carpenters and bushcraft enthusiasts. It is worth mentioning that in 1985, the ‘Gomboy’ model was the first on the market to feature a rubber-coated handle, which contributed to it winning the prestigious Japanese Good Design Award. Thanks to the combination of traditional Japanese craftsmanship and modern technological solutions, Silky has been one of the leading manufacturers of hand saws for years.

This is already my second Silky saw. The previous model 360 left a smooth surface after cutting, and this smaller one is great for working on finer elements and does it very quickly. I also have a Laplander saw, which is great, but I think this one is better. The handle is partially rubberized and fits perfectly in the hand. It would be nice to have a dedicated case, even for an additional charge. Still, I would choose this model again without hesitation. The size is perfect – neither too big nor too small.

Some time ago I bought a Bahco saw and was happy with how it cut, but now I received the Silky saw I recently purchased and, though it's hard to believe, it cuts twice as fast with minimal effort. It slices through branches of 5 cm in diameter in a few strokes. It is lightweight, very sharp, fits perfectly in the hand, and its promotional price is a bullseye. It has one downside – it's so much fun to use that you just can't stop, and a smile appears on your face. Highly recommended.

The saw is very well made and worth every zloty spent. After experiences with cheap store saws, this one cuts wood with no problem at all. You can't see how it cuts, it works very smoothly – just remember to cut towards yourself. The product is lightweight, comfortable to use, and definitely worth recommending.

A compact, very handy, and practical saw, it fits in your pocket. It's very sharp and cuts even thicker branches without any trouble. You have to remember to always cut toward yourself. The build quality is excellent, and the two possible positions of the blade only add to its advantages. It doesn't have a lock when closed, but the blade remains stable. I recommend this saw.

Silky is a brand that guarantees quality – this saw is a great example of that. It is very lightweight and extremely sharp. Working with it is pure pleasure, and the handle fits perfectly in the hand. Once folded, it takes up very little space and the blade is completely hidden. A big plus is the possibility to buy a new blade if the original one gets dull. I chose the 7.5 version because it allows for faster work. I definitely recommend this purchase.
