A practical flattening stone that does exactly what it’s supposed to do: it keeps the sharpening stone nicely flat and thus ensures consistently even sharpening results over the long term. My tip: after every sharpening session, briefly flatten the sharpening stone with it instead of waiting until it becomes noticeably uneven. In the long run, that saves a lot of time and effort.

Since I have been using various sharpening stones from different providers, sizes, and types for decades, and could never part with the special stones, I decided to make them completely flat and straight again. With this rubbing/repair stone, I actually managed—with some effort—to bring them back to a flat surface so I can use the full length of the stones again! (Pure joy)
