Savotta Varjelus Plate Carrier Tactical Vest - M05 Finnish Woodland Camo

The tactical Plate Carrier vest is a modular accouterment carrying system designed for operations in demanding terrain. It is made from durable 500D Cordura and rigid LDPE structural components, combining high durability with appropriate weight. The system includes a front and rear panel for ballistic inserts, a skeletonized cummerbund, and padded shoulder pads. The vest's design does not restrict freedom of movement, and its modular configuration allows it to be tailored to the user's requirements.

durable 500D Cordura

The body of the vest is made from durable 500D Cordura, resistant to mechanical damage. The load-bearing elements of the cummerbund are made of laser-cut low-density polyethylene (LDPE), providing the rigidity needed for stable carrying of equipment without restricting ventilation. The materials used feature infrared visibility reducing properties (NIR), which increases effectiveness after dark.

PALS webbing, velcro panels, rescue handle

The outer surfaces of the panels and cummerbund are covered with PALS-standard webbing, allowing modular expansion with additional pockets and accessories. On the chest and upper back there are velcro panels measuring 10 x 25 cm, intended for attaching identifiers and patches. The cummerbund is mounted using elastic cords and cord locks, allowing quick circumference adjustment without unfastening the entire system. A rescue handle 58 cm long is placed in the upper part of the rear panel, concealed in a compartment. It is deployed by pulling the protruding section of webbing.

pockets for ballistic inserts, modular placard-type accouterment system

The vest's design is based on a modular placard-type accouterment system, providing complete freedom in choosing pouches and pockets. The front panel allows installation of ready-made modules attached with buckles or velcro. Pockets for ballistic inserts allow carrying plates measuring 25 x 30 cm (SAPI M) and soft inserts up to 35 mm thick, with depth adjustment using internal webbing.

M05 camouflage

The M05 camouflage (Finnish M05 Maastokuvio) is a family of pixelated camouflage patterns introduced into the Finnish Defence Forces in 2005 as a successor to the M91 pattern. It was developed based on digital analysis of photographs of Finnish forests taken in different seasons by the Finnish Forest Research Institute. The M05 family includes several variants, such as woodland, snow, and cold weather.

The main woodland version of M05 consists of patches in light green, dark green, brown, and dark graphite, effectively replicating the structure of Finnish forests. Due to similar vegetation and terrain conditions, the M05 Woodland camouflage also performs well in the forests of Central and Eastern Europe, providing effective concealment in natural surroundings.

Savotta

MILITARY is a premium dealer of Savotta.

Savotta is a Finnish family company from Karstula that has been designing and manufacturing backpacks, bags, tents, and field gear for the military, rescue services, and people who value outdoor trips since 1955. The brand's gear has been supplied to the Finnish Defence Forces continuously since the 1960s, meeting the strict standards required for military equipment. Savotta builds its products with durability in mind, which is why it uses top-grade materials such as Cordura, and nearly all raw materials (97%) come from suppliers within the European Union. The brand also stands out for its own proprietary solutions: the Rapid Adjustment Slider fast adjustment system, frames made from polyethylene sheets, and laser-cut mounting points in the PALS/MOLLE standard. Every design is created in Finland, and the manufacturing of the gear remains entirely within the European Union. Along with growing interest, the brand expanded its production - since 2025, its products have been made in three countries: Finland, Estonia, and Poland. Regardless of where a given item was made, it undergoes final quality control at the Finnish headquarters in Karstula.

Cordura feature
Cordura

Cordura is a material woven from durable nylon fibers, developed by DuPont. The structure of the material provides lightness and abrasion resistance, as well as weather resistance. Due to its properties, Cordura is widely used in tactical equipment.

PALS system feature
PALS system

PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) feature
NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance)
NIR (Near Infrared Reflectance) is a material property of controlled reflection of radiation in the near-infrared (780-2500 nm) range, used primarily in tactical clothing and equipment. NIR-treated fabrics are designed to reduce the thermal emission and reflection of IR radiation, allowing the material's surface temperature to be kept close to ambient. This reduces the risk of detection of the wearer by electronic-optical surveillance systems, including night vision and infrared sensors. NIR technology significantly improves the effectiveness of camouflage in combat and low-light conditions.
