Savotta Varjelus PALS Placard Panel - M05 Finnish Woodland Camo

Front panel in M05 Finnish Woodland Camo, designed for mounting on the Varjelus tactical vest by Savotta. The construction is equipped with 4 rows of PALS webbing, allowing stable attachment of selected accouterment elements compatible with the MOLLE standard.

The panel measures 25 x 20 cm and weighs only 105 g. The low weight reduces the load on the vest, while the webbing layout allows the placement of pouches and pockets to be adjusted to the selected configuration.

The panel is made of Cordura 500D, a polyamide fabric with high resistance to abrasion, tearing, and intensive use. The material retains adequate stiffness, so the panel keeps its shape during the mounting of pouches and other modules.

The PALS webbing is made of 100% polyester. It creates attachment points for compatible equipment. The webbing is sewn to the base material in a way that ensures stable retention of accessories.

The model stands out for properties that reduce the signature in the NIR range, that is, near infrared. The materials, dyes, and finishing process used were selected to reduce the difference in infrared radiation reflection between the surface of the equipment and the surroundings.

Reduced contrast can make quick identification of the equipment more difficult during observation carried out with night vision devices.

The panel is equipped with 6 columns and 4 rows of PALS webbing. The height of 4 rows was selected with AK pouches in mind, as they usually take up more space than models designed for AR-15 magazines.

The taller panel prevents the lower part of an AK pouch from extending below the edge. At the same time, the construction remains compatible with lower pouches for AR-15 magazines.

The back of the panel is equipped with elements that allow quick and stable mounting on a tactical vest. Low-profile G-hook hooks and velcro mounting were used. The hooks support the upper part of the panel, while the velcro stabilizes it on the surface of the vest. The combination of both solutions limits module shifting during movement and allows it to be detached quickly.

The G-hook hooks are attached using durable webbing. If needed, they can be replaced with Side Release quick-release buckles. Side loops allow the use of split QR buckles and quick-release systems such as Tubes and ROC.

Grip webbing is placed in the lower corners. It makes it easier to detach the panel, open the velcro mounting, and stabilize the module during putting on and taking off.

M05 (Finnish M05 Maastokuvio) camouflage is a family of pixelated camouflage patterns introduced into the Finnish Armed Forces in 2005 as the successor to the M91 pattern. It was developed based on digital analysis of photographs of Finnish forests taken in different seasons by the Finnish Forest Research Institute. The M05 family includes several variants, including woodland, snow, and cold weather.

The main woodland version of M05 consists of patches in light green, dark green, brown, and dark graphite, effectively reproducing the structure of Finnish forests. Thanks to similar vegetation and terrain conditions, M05 Woodland camouflage also performs well in the forests of Central and Eastern Europe, providing effective concealment in a natural environment.
