Honestly, I took advantage of a price drop to finally decide to buy this accessory. But I wasn’t expecting pads that firm for so little thickness, and in the end it’s more than just a simple accessory, given the overall quality and practicality of the product. In the end, why am I surprised? It’s Savotta!

MILITARY is a premium dealer of Savotta.
Savotta is a Finnish family company from Karstula that has been designing and manufacturing backpacks, bags, tents, and field gear for the military, rescue services, and people who value outdoor trips since 1955. The brand's gear has been supplied to the Finnish Defence Forces continuously since the 1960s, meeting the strict standards required for military equipment. Savotta builds its products with durability in mind, which is why it uses top-grade materials such as Cordura, and nearly all raw materials (97%) come from suppliers within the European Union. The brand also stands out for its own proprietary solutions: the Rapid Adjustment Slider fast adjustment system, frames made from polyethylene sheets, and laser-cut mounting points in the PALS/MOLLE standard. Every design is created in Finland, and the manufacturing of the gear remains entirely within the European Union. Along with growing interest, the brand expanded its production - since 2025, its products have been made in three countries: Finland, Estonia, and Poland. Regardless of where a given item was made, it undergoes final quality control at the Finnish headquarters in Karstula.

The Savotta Sitting Pad is an extremely simple but very practical addition to your gear that you'll quickly appreciate when taking a break on the trail. Thanks to it, you no longer have to sit on cold or damp ground, snow, or hard roots. The pad provides excellent insulation from the cold and moisture, ensuring comfort and protecting you from getting chilled while cooking, relaxing, or observing your surroundings. It's very lightweight, so you won't notice its presence in your backpack. The durable, dense foam means it doesn't tear or deform easily, unlike cheap mats from supermarkets. You can easily stash it inside your backpack, attach it to the backpack panel, or fasten it outside with straps. It's a small, unassuming item that significantly increases the comfort of any outing. It's an absolutely essential gadget for every backpack!

First time buying a product from Savotta and I must say the quality is there. The mat feels very sturdy and has a very large sitting area. However, it will be too big to take in your everyday backpack. I recommend this product!

Fits perfectly inside my Kantamus 40L as a replacement for the foam back-rest, making it a lightweight and very useful upgrade. As expected, the craftsmanship is classic Savotta—rugged and well made. It also fits width-wise in the Hatka day pack, although it sticks out of the pocket by about two inches, which is still totally workable in practice.
