I used a previous edition of the Salomon Quest boots and after damaging the sole (my fault), I decided to buy this model again. Unfortunately, this version turned out to be worse than the previous one. First of all, the sole is stiffer and less comfortable, it is starting to detach from the shoe, there is a crack and a hole where it meets the leather, and the boots become wet relatively quickly.
Salomon Quest 4D MID GTX Forces 2 EN Boots - Coyote
Coyote tactical boots crafted with a lightweight and durable construction, featuring a breathable Gore-Tex membrane. The design incorporates a 4D Advanced Chassis, providing foot stability on uneven terrain and helping to minimize fatigue during extended hikes. Ideal for uniformed services as well as everyday urban and off-road activities.
Contagrip sole, Protective Rubber Toe Cap
The Contagrip sole offers resistance against punctures, prevents electrostatic discharge, and provides slip resistance on oily surfaces. Additionally, toe protection is ensured by the Protective Rubber Toe Cap, guarding the foot from impacts and tripping hazards.
Constructed from Energycell+ foam, the midsole boasts high resilience and releases some of the energy stored during foot impact, enhancing the effectiveness and dynamism of the midfoot strike. The OrthoLite insole, both lightweight and breathable with antibacterial properties, supports the foot's natural structure while enhancing cushioning.
Waterproof membrane, SensiFit leather
The upper material consists of abrasion-resistant and anti-reflective Cordura, paired with a SensiFit leather stabilizer that shields the foot. The Gore-Tex membrane provides full waterproofing, excellent breathability, and ensures the boot remains dry inside and out.
Quick lacing
Metal grommets for laces ensure fast lacing. A mesh pocket on the tongue provides a space to store extra lace. A loop at the back of the boot facilitates putting them on.

After about three months of use, the rubber on the heel of the left shoe cracked, and after a month the same happened with the right one. With every step, the shoes make unusual noises, which is very annoying. At this price (1199 PLN), such things shouldn't happen. Despite this, I am satisfied with the use – I walked 25-30 km with a load, and my feet were without chafing. I used the footwear 6 days a week for 9-14 hours in difficult mountain conditions.

The shoes start soaking through after four hours of working in the field on wet grass, and after two months of use, the sole began to detach. I absolutely do not recommend them – I regret the purchase and advise choosing others.

I don't understand the negative opinions about these shoes. I've been wearing them for 7 months and have never had better ones. Indeed, the sole is soft and has worn down slightly on asphalt, but the micro-tread will still last a long time. Nothing has torn or cracked. I regularly clean them, wash them inside, and take care of the leather with the right products. Recently, I walked for two weeks in mud and water – my feet were always dry. I highly recommend them – with proper care, they'll last for years.

I think these are some of the best shoes – a great combination of sports and military footwear. They perform well in various conditions: summer, autumn, winter, on sand, mud, and snow. However, they have one flaw typical of Salomon shoes: the sole and toe caps easily detach from the rest of the shoe.

In my opinion, these are the best shoes for long marches – a combination of sports and military footwear, very comfortable, stable, with a good sole. They quickly adapt to your foot and don't require a long break-in period. They work great in summer, autumn, and winter in various conditions: snow, sand, mud. Unfortunately, they share a common flaw with other Salomon models – elements like the sole or toe caps can start to come off quickly. It's a pity there's not more durability at this price because the shoes aren't durable enough.

The shoes are solid, durable, and stable. Unfortunately, they're too warm for me – after a whole day, my feet are damp and slightly chafed, even though it wasn't hot outside.

Overall, I recommend these shoes. I've used them both in the Tatras and in the Bieszczady mountains, testing them in tough conditions. The advantage is that they didn't chafe my feet and are relatively comfortable. The only drawback is a slightly coming off glue at the toe after heavy use, but it's a minor issue and can be fixed. I definitely recommend them.

I strongly do not recommend these shoes. After two weeks of use, they started coming apart at the rim by the toes. After repair and a longer break, they fell apart again during work. Discoloration of the leather appears quickly despite care, and the material is easily damaged mechanically. I was a fan of Salomon, but this model disappointed me. I give two stars only for comfort.

The shoes are great. They are very stiff, which means that during mountain walks, the foot and ankle are exceptionally well protected. Once laced up, you feel like they’re made of concrete—not heavy, just that your leg is solidly secured. The tread is excellent, it grips even on ice—when others had trouble, I walked calmly. The appearance is another advantage of these shoes. After two years of use, from November to March, I have not noticed any problems. Comfort is at a very high level for this class of footwear.

After two weeks of daily use in mud and at the shooting range, my feet stay dry and without blisters. After washing and drying, the shoes look like new. After five months, there are no signs of wear. The shoes provide good traction in clayey terrain. Several friends have used them for over a year and are all satisfied.

I've been using these shoes for almost a year, and after a few months, they started coming apart at the rubber on the toe. Recently, I noticed that the sole is also starting to separate. This appears to be a flaw of this model. Otherwise, as for comfort and stability – they are great: provide comfort, stability, wick moisture well, and are waterproof. If it weren't for the issue with coming apart, I would definitely buy them again.

I bought these shoes before a mission trip. After three months, the rubber on the heel cracked, making them unusable because they started making strange sounds with each step. My friend, who bought the same model at a different store, had the same problem, so it must be a design flaw. Shoes at this price shouldn't break down so quickly. Luckily, I had a spare pair, otherwise I'd have to glue them and lose the warranty. Now I have to return them under warranty and I'm very disappointed with Salomon.
-
Right after purchase, I rate these shoes 5 stars – feet don't sweat, although at first I thought it would be different, because they're bulkier than they look. The insole is comfortable, and the laces seem a bit too long for this upper – that's the only downside I see. I intend to test them more and share further opinions later.

Inside the shoe, on the inner side, there is a stiff, vertical seam that supports the ankle. Does this really not bother anyone? I bought this model, but I'm quite concerned because of it. During several hours of wearing them at home, the seam caused me constant discomfort and pressure on my ankle. In my opinion, it's a serious mistake by Salomon and a flaw in this model. In the QUEST 4 GORE-TEX version for everyday use, there is no such seam, and I'm considering an exchange. The downside of these shoes is the lack of a pocket for protruding laces and a less attractive appearance.
