Salewa Brenta RDS Jacket - Black Out

The trekking jacket in Black Out protects against adverse weather conditions. The model was designed for everyday wear. The well-thought-out fit ensures full freedom of movement and proper breathability, which increases comfort during use. The jacket meets strict environmental standards, as confirmed by the RDS certificate.

The outer and inner layers are made of 20D nylon with a grammage of 41 g/m2. The material stands out for its low weight, and the applied arrangement of reinforcing fibers reduces the risk of any tears becoming larger. The fabric does not contain harmful PFAS compounds. The soft taffeta lining increases wearing comfort, and the material used is certified Bluesign.

The outer material is coated with a hydrophobic PFAS-free DWR finish. The finish limits the soaking of the fabric surface, so water droplets remain on the outside and run off the material more easily instead of quickly penetrating its structure. The coating supports protection against light rain, snow, humid air, and accidental splashes.

The insulation is provided by duck down in a ratio of 80% down and 20% feathers. The 550 cuin fill power defines the fill's ability to regain volume after compression. The insulation is distributed in quilted chambers. The chambers form a segmented construction, the layout of which supports the retention of warmed air while also allowing the material to remain flexible. The stitching stabilizes the down and limits its shifting during use. This solution helps maintain an even distribution of insulation on the front and back of the model.

Natural down provides a favorable insulation-to-weight ratio. The jacket can be easily packed into a backpack, bag, or luggage, and once unpacked, the fill regains its volume. The down is marked with the RDS certificate, which confirms compliance with requirements for sourcing down and feathers and for animal welfare.

The full-length main zipper is protected against moisture penetration. All seams are fully taped, which translates into maximum tightness and durability of the construction. The hood with a visor protects the face from rain and wind, while the adjustment option makes it easier to tailor the fit. Velcro cuffs and an adjustable drawstring at the bottom edge improve wearing comfort and effectively reduce wind gusts.

There are 2 pockets on the sides, closed with zippers. They provide a secure place for a phone, keys, documents, gloves, and other small items. The pockets also work well for warming your hands. Zippers reduce the risk of the carried contents falling out.
