Njord Bernt Large Axe

A versatile, large axe with a solid carbon steel head and ash wood handle. Perfect for bushcraft, useful when building a shelter, preparing wood for a campfire and also for felling trees. The appearance of the hatchet is reminiscent of the design of hatchets used by the Vikings.

The head is made of tough carbon steel hardened to 57 HRC for durability and cutting performance. In addition, the surface of the head has been sandblasted, giving it an aesthetically pleasing aged appearance.

The handle, made of ash wood, has been suitably shaped and protected with beeswax and linseed oil, which protects the wood from moisture and prevents the development of mould.

A leather sheath is included in the set to protect the cutting edge of the axe, protecting it from damage and keeping it safe during transport and storage.
