Easy to use, safe, and highly effective waterproofing for fleece. Provides lasting water repellency, reducing weight gain and maintaining the breathability and insulation properties of fleece in rainy weather.
Although individual fleece fibers do not absorb water, water can get into the spaces between the fibers. The accumulation of water reduces the insulating properties of fleece and also increases its weight; fleece can retain water equal to half its weight! This reduces the wearer's comfort, making them feel damp and cold, but more importantly, reduced insulation is dangerous and in extreme cases can lead to hypothermia.
Nikwax Polar Proof® has been specially designed and optimized for fleece clothing: it leaves a flexible water-repellent layer on individual fibers, allowing moisture vapor to escape, maintaining breathability and optimizing performance in wet weather. In addition, it prevents fleece fibers from tangling, extending its life.
Adding the impregnating agent to the washing machine ensures that the product will penetrate the garment completely. Durable water repellency (DWR) is produced during air drying.
Nikwax care and waterproofing products are water-based, aerosol-free, non-flammable, safe, and environmentally friendly. They do not contain hazardous solvents or volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and are completely free of fluorinated hydrocarbons (which have been shown to remain in the environment for a long time and are associated with serious health problems).
