Mil-Tec Softshell Thinsulate Winter Gloves - Phantomleaf WASP I Z2

Winter gloves featuring Phantomleaf WASP I Z2 camouflage, crafted from premium softshell material, which is a blend of polyester and elastane. The exterior is lightweight and flexible, offering excellent moisture protection while promoting air circulation. Inside, the gloves are lined with fleece lining and have an inner layer of Thinsulate insulation from 3M, providing effective cold weather protection.

softshell, fleece lining, thinsulate, reinforced gripping area

The design utilizes softshell material, which is a combination of polyester and elastane. This fabric offers both abrasion resistance and flexibility, making the gloves ideal for tough weather conditions and rigorous use.

Inside, the gloves are lined with soft fleece to enhance thermal comfort, while the 3M Thinsulate insulation efficiently traps heat and removes excess moisture, ensuring the inner layer stays dry and comfortable.

The gripping section is fortified with a polyurethane layer that has anti-slip features. This enhancement boosts grip reliability—even in wet conditions—and bolsters durability in areas that experience high wear.

touchscreen

The thumb, index, and middle fingers include a TouchScreen-compatible insert, enabling touchscreen use without taking off the gloves.

elastic cuffs, plastic buckles

Elastic cuffs provide a secure fit around the wrists, enhancing comfort and blocking cold air from entering. The gloves also feature plastic buckles, allowing them to be clipped together for convenient storage and carrying.

Phantomleaf WASP I Z2 camouflage

WASP I is an innovative range of Phantomleaf Civ-Tec camouflage patterns, crafted specifically for Mil-Tec. These patterns utilize advanced digital image analysis of the terrain where they are intended to provide camouflage. The algorithm accounts for movement and other variables, ensuring outstanding adaptability across diverse conditions. Simultaneously, Phantomleaf camouflage patterns are distinctive enough for reliable "friend or foe" recognition among soldiers in combat or during an ASG game.

The WASP I Z2 variant excels under dry vegetation conditions, as well as on steppes and in semi-desert and rocky areas. In the temperate zone, its application extends to forests and rural landscapes from late summer through late autumn. It offers an innovative alternative to other camouflages like MultiCam, Arid MC Camo, or Pentacamo.

Honestly, I’m extremely disappointed. After reading the reviews, I really thought these gloves would be decent, but they’re not. I can literally feel cold air entering the gloves while wearing them. At around –6°C with wind chill down to –13°C, my hands got cold immediately when I stepped outside. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve been equally “warm” in a thin pair of dress leather gloves with some wool on the inside, meant for mild spring weather, which I was using before. That’s just ridiculous for something marketed as winter gloves, in my opinion. While waiting for these to arrive, I bought another pair of alpine gloves for a similar price, also using 3M Thinsulate, as I didn’t feel like freezing for the next couple of days while walking the dog. The difference is night and day. The other gloves perform way better, even in colder temperatures, and aren’t noticeably thicker either. So the problem clearly isn’t the 3M Thinsulate itself, but how it’s used here. The touchscreen feature sounds nice on paper, but in reality it’s basically useless. You might be able to swipe to answer or decline a call, but typing a PIN or doing basically anything else on the phone? Forget it. Overall, these just don’t deliver on warmth, which is the most important thing for winter gloves for me. I wouldn’t recommend them if you actually plan to be outside in cold or windy conditions just walking, maybe for running or something else I don't know.

Very nice, lightweight, and at the same time warm gloves. I tested them in frost down to -10 during car snow removal and they performed excellently! They are comfortable, fit well, and the size matches the description. A huge plus is the waterproof layer on the inside of the gloves. I won’t elaborate on the fast shipping from militaria.pl because that’s already standard! The gloves are definitely worth recommending, especially at this price.

The gloves are warm up to 0°C, after that your fingers start to get cold. I was looking for a pair that's not too thick for mild frosts, and that could be used with touch screens without taking them off. In lower temperatures, I wore thin wool gloves underneath, and that provided enough warmth without losing feeling in my hands. However, at -10°C, they turned out to be insufficient. The large 3M tag, reminiscent of work gloves, bothers me—but fortunately, it's easy to remove.

I am disappointed. The gloves seem warmer than they actually are. As someone else already mentioned, they feel like cardboard – aside from a thin layer of fleece inside, there is no extra insulation or padding. Even though I'm not someone who gets cold easily, in just a slight frost (around -6°C) and without wind, my hands begin to cool down quickly, even after a few minutes. Only at temperatures close to zero do they provide noticeable warmth. In my opinion, they shouldn't be called winter gloves, which is a shame because they are comfortable, have a good anti-slip layer, and are well made. Unfortunately, the thumb is too long. In the end, I returned them. PS. MFH brand gloves look almost identical, but have extra padding and are definitely warmer – I’ll wait until my size becomes available.

The gloves performed very well at -10 degrees – sometimes I felt a slight chill, but they didn't let in any moisture at all, which was most important to me. You could easily handle a weapon in them, but I wish there was a larger loop so you could, for example, attach them to a carabiner.

I bought them with emergency situations in the car in mind, because winter has come and I need to clear snow from the car. They do their job – my hands didn’t get cold while clearing snow and scraping ice. The gloves did not get wet. They also worked well for short walks to the store, even at -10 degrees and with strong wind. After several minutes outside, my hands were still warm. I think that for a longer distance they would work just as well.

The gloves are comfortable and keep your hands warm even in a few degrees of frost. In milder temperatures, you can put something thinner inside. They performed well throughout the entire usage period, but after two years, the material on the gripping side started to tear and come off, most likely due to performing activities that require moving your hands, such as driving a vehicle. In summary, it's a good choice for winter, although the durability of the material on the gripping side could be better. I bought the gloves in December 2023.

I bought black gloves and although I wasn't sure if they would be suitable, they turned out to be great – they work perfectly on cold days, and the size fits perfectly. Now I'm considering buying a second pair for work.

When looking for work gloves for working in the forest, I cared about freedom of movement, warmth, and durability without losing functionality. I tested them during two winter night trips to the forest. I noticed that they allow you to perform most tasks, but the insulation could be better. I'll wear thin gloves underneath and it will be fine.

The gloves are well made, provide a secure grip on tools when working in the forest, and when worn together with thinner ones, they keep you warm even in severe frost.

I bought these gloves with bike riding in mind for colder, sometimes rainy days (in light frost). On a daily basis, I cover routes in the city for several kilometers. The gloves work great – they’re warm, comfortable, and don’t get soaked during autumn or winter drizzle or light rain. The quality of the product itself seems solid to me.

The gloves seem very thin and almost cardboard-like because they practically have no padding and are flat (if you've ever had winter ski gloves, you know what I mean :)). Nevertheless, they provide a bit of warmth, though it's hard to say exactly how, and they're quite comfortable to wear. I chose size "L" according to the chart and they're perfect, although I have slim hands and expected them to be bigger – you can fit thin fleece gloves underneath. Unfortunately, leather gloves do not perform well in severe frost, as the leather cools down quickly and your fingers get icy. I hope these will work as an outer layer during severe cold or solo at around freezing temperatures.

The gloves are well made and match the description. I wore them today in minus 5 degrees and was surprised how warm they kept me. I didn’t expect that. How long they will last remains to be seen. My dog's leash is a tough opponent. As always, delivery was very fast.

These gloves finally met my expectations, which positively surprised me. Thanks to them, I can use my phone without having to take them off. I’ve already tried ski gloves and elegant gloves, but none of them allowed me to comfortably type on my phone – only these “military” ones made such an impression on me. I definitely recommend them to people serving in the military, especially in the field or on the training ground. For a woman’s hand I chose size S – it fits perfectly.

Great, exceptionally warm gloves. Nowadays, city winters are milder, so these gloves are absolutely suitable. I think it's a very successful purchase!
