The lanyard is unusual because it is made of paracord – after all, it's a "tactical lanyard." It feels strong and shouldn't attract lint. The carabiner seems to be intended mainly for light items, such as keys or a whistle – I wouldn't carry heavier items on it, but you can easily replace it. Highly recommend!
