I have no complaints about the quality, appearance, insulation, or color of this sleeping bag – it really is great, so why only four stars? First, the hood could fit better and cover the head more. Second, the width – I thought 80 cm would be enough, but when zipped up I find there isn’t enough space and the sleeping comfort is average. Maybe for a slimmer person, it would be just right.
Mil-tec Mummy 500 g Sleeping Bag - Woodland
Durable sleeping bag with a Woodland camouflage pattern, designed in a mummy shape to provide a comfortable sleeping position and unrestricted movement. Constructed from high-quality polyester, it has a robust outer shell and is filled with Hollow Fiber.
Temperature and usage conditions
Sleeping bag temperature ratings for the Mummy style, as specified by the EN 13537 standard:
- T-comfort: -5°C – the minimum temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably through the night.
- T-extreme: -10°C— the minimum survivable temperature in the sleeping bag. Regular use is not advised.
polyester construction, soft lining
The outer shell, crafted from PU-coated polyester, offers excellent resistance to abrasion, mechanical damage, and moisture. The interior lining, composed of a cotton and polyester blend, provides a comfortable feel against the skin and ensures good breathability. This blend makes the sleeping bag ideal for both challenging expeditions and leisurely camping trips.
Hollow Fiber filling
The sleeping bag incorporates a double layer of Hollow Fiber polyester at 500 g/m2, prized for its lightweight nature and impressive compressibility. The quilted construction ensures the fibers remain in place, promoting even heat distribution. Its insulation preserves both resilience and breathability, facilitating effective air circulation. It sustains its thermal properties even after exposure to moisture, washing, or extensive use. The filling is hypoallergenic, making it ideal for individuals allergic to down.
Right-side zipper, protective flap
The primary closure features a two-way zipper on the right side, secured by a hook-and-loop flap. Internally, a protective draft tube prevents fabric snagging and minimizes heat loss.
Integrated hood for cold protection
An anatomically designed hood delivers enhanced protection for the head from the cold. A drawstring minimizes heat escape, boosting comfort while sleeping in cold conditions. The internal thermal collar efficiently prevents cold air from infiltrating the sleeping bag.
Easy to carry and store
The model is convenient for transportation and storage. When folded, the sleeping bag's dimensions are 45 x 45 x 68 cm, and it has a weight of 2000 g, making it simple to carry.
Set elements
Included in the set is a practical compression sack with a quick-release buckle, designed to protect the sleeping bag during transport and guard it against dirt and damage.
Woodland camouflage
Woodland, also referred to as U.S. Woodland or M81, is a traditional camouflage design introduced to the US military in the early 1980s, taking inspiration from the earlier ERDL pattern. It served as the standard camouflage for more than twenty years, until the close of the first decade of the 2000s. Characterized by large, irregular patches in hues of green, brown, beige, and black, it offers excellent concealment and disruptive qualities, particularly in forested environments. Due to its effectiveness and widespread recognition, numerous variations have emerged, adopted by over 60 different uniform styles globally. The pattern has also significantly influenced popular culture, transitioning from military use to mainstream fashion.

The sleeping bag is well-made and provides warmth. I definitely recommend it.

The sleeping bag perfectly fulfills its function. The material and zipper are sturdy. Tested in a mountain hut at -3 degrees inside.

The sleeping bag retains body heat well and effectively wicks away moisture – it’s great for winter nights, even without extra heating. The zipper is sturdy and withstands frequent use, and the sleeping bag itself also works well as a blanket – you don’t have to zip it up.
