I put it on and used it during one of the hottest days of this summer. The water did not boil, but it was not cold either. The small amount of insulating foam does not fully isolate the drink from outside heat. Nevertheless, this solution works better than a Camelback in a backpack. The straps could be sewn on better or attached differently, for example to a molle system. However, for gear at this price you can't expect miracles. It serves its purpose, and that's the most important thing.
