Merrell Speed Strike 2 MID Leather Waterproof Shoes - Drab I bought these shoes on 12/22/2025 – they are comfortable, well-fitting, and soft (size 43.5). However, I had to exchange them for size 44 because I needed half a size more for thick merino wool socks. I am writing this review on 02/02/2026, so I tested them during the coldest days in Poznań. While walking and standing normally, they provide comfort and warmth, with a slight feeling of warmth being dominant. When I stood still for 30–40 minutes on icy pavement, after some time I felt a slight coolness, which increased after about an hour. However, after walking briskly for 100–150 meters, my feet warmed up again. After taking off the shoes at home, my feet were dry, my socks slightly damp, and the inside of the shoe slightly moist. After removing the insoles and unlacing them, the shoes dried sufficiently in about two hours and were ready for the next outing. These are my personal impressions; I did not compare with other tests. I checked the shoes from 01/26 to 02/02/2026 for 6–8 hours a day, mainly in the morning, evening, and sometimes at night, without sunlight. The 'ankle-deep snow' test was successful—both while walking and standing. I definitely recommend this model, remembering to regularly clean and waterproof the shoes.
