The modern MultiCam camouflage was developed in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as part of the Objective Force Warrior program. Its aim was to create a universal camouflage pattern that functions in diverse terrains and changing environmental conditions. MultiCam consists of seven colors that create seamless transitions between shades of green, brown, and beige. This allows it to dynamically adapt to the background, taking on shades of green in forested areas or browns and beiges in desert regions. In Central and Eastern European environments, it is particularly effective in the autumn and among dry vegetation. MultiCam has gained worldwide recognition and is used by numerous armed forces and special units. In 2010, the camouflage was officially adopted by the U.S. Army as the camouflage pattern for soldiers in Afghanistan, replacing the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). This pattern is also available to civilians, making it a popular choice among military enthusiasts and airsoft participants.
