Levenhuk Trap WF30 Trail Camera

Trail camera with a solar panel, designed for the automatic monitoring of forests, properties, farms, plots, and wild animal habitats. The device records photos and videos after detecting motion, and thanks to the integrated Wi-Fi module, it allows remote viewing of saved files and management of settings using a smartphone.

Recording in 5K provides a detailed image of the monitored area. The model is suitable for nature observation, area surveying, and supervision of remote sites. The camouflage housing reduces the device's visibility and makes discreet placement in the field easier.

housing, mounting, ip66 standard

The durable camouflage housing makes it easier to conceal the device among vegetation, branches, and forest undergrowth. The design is equipped with mounting points and a nylon strap, which allows the camera to be attached to a tree, pole, or another stable element.

The standard 1/4" thread also allows the device to be mounted on a compatible tripod or bracket. The front panel houses the lens, PIR sensor, and IR illumination elements. Side hinges and the closure make it easier to access the inside of the housing and the control elements.

The housing meets the requirements of the IP66 protection rating. This means complete protection against dust and resistance to strong water jets. The trail camera can operate in a temperature range from -20 to +60 degrees Celsius, so it is suitable for use at different times of year.

recording photos and videos

The camera takes photos and records videos automatically after motion is detected by the PIR sensor. You can choose photo resolution up to 60 MP and video resolution up to 5K. Lower resolutions are also available, making it possible to reduce file size and increase the number of files that can be saved on the memory card.

The trail camera saves photos in JPG format and recordings in MP4 format. Each file can be supplemented with a stamp containing the date, time, temperature, and moon phase. This data makes later analysis of the files easier and helps determine the conditions in which the recording was made.

The model offers different recording modes:

  • in burst mode, it is possible to take 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 photos after a single motion detection.
  • A video mode and a “photo first, then video” mode are also available, in which the camera takes a photo and records a video. The length of a single recording can be set from 5 seconds to 10 minutes.
  • The time-lapse recording function allows photos or videos to be taken at specified intervals - from 1 second to 24 hours. This mode does not require motion to be detected by the PIR sensor each time, so it is suitable for documenting slow and long-lasting processes.

day and night image, wide field of view, fast response

During the day, the camera records a color image. After dark, it automatically switches to black and white mode and activates infrared illumination with a wavelength of 850 nm. The range of the IR illuminator is up to 20 meters, allowing the device to record objects at a considerable distance even in complete darkness.

The minimum focusing distance is 1 meter in day mode, and the operating range reaches 20 meters in standard sensitivity mode and at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The lens with a focal length of 4 mm provides a wide viewing angle of 120 degrees. This makes it possible to observe a large section of the area and increases the chance of recording an object moving in front of the camera.

Trigger time is from 0.2 to 0.5 seconds. After motion is detected, the device quickly starts recording, which is important when observing animals, people, or vehicles moving through the monitored area.

PIR motion sensor

The trail camera uses a PIR sensor that responds to motion and temperature changes within the field of view. Sensitivity can be adjusted to suit operating conditions by selecting one of 3 levels:

  • high
  • normal
  • low

The adjustment makes it possible to limit the number of accidental activations or increase sensitivity when observing small and fast-moving objects. The interval between subsequent triggers can be set from 5 seconds to 60 minutes.

wi-fi module and remote access

The built-in Wi-Fi module provides remote access to the camera and viewing of saved multimedia files. After downloading the TrailCam Go app to a smartphone, you can establish a Wi-Fi connection to the camera and then manage settings and view saved files. To establish the connection, the smartphone should also have Bluetooth enabled.

Files can be saved directly to a smartphone or shared via email and messaging apps. Remote operation is especially useful when the camera has been installed in a hard-to-reach location or on a remote property.

sound recording, memory, loop recording

The built-in microphone records ambient sounds while videos are being recorded. This provides a more complete record of the observed situation and makes event identification easier. Video material can contain both image and sound, so it better documents the activity of people, animals, or vehicles in the monitored area.

The device supports SD memory cards with capacities from 4 to 128 GB (not included in the set). The available loop recording function allows the camera to continue operating after the storage medium is full. The oldest files are then automatically overwritten with new ones.

screen and operation

The camera is equipped with a 2-inch color LCD display. It allows you to view saved files, change settings, and monitor device operation without needing to connect it to an external monitor.

The menu is available in 11 languages. It is also possible to set a 4-digit password to protect against unauthorized access to settings and saved files. A USB Type-C port is used to connect the device to a computer. The appropriate cable is included in the set.

battery or mains power, solar panel

The Levenhuk Trap WF30 is powered by 2 built-in 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable batteries with a voltage of 3.7 V and a capacity of 5200 mA h, charged using the solar panel. To extend operating time, the device can also be powered by 8 AA batteries (not included in the set).

In standby mode, the camera can operate for up to 18 months without charging. The device can also be powered by an external 6 V/1 A DC power supply. This solution is useful during long-term monitoring carried out near a power source.
