Levenhuk Trap LTE20 Trail Camera
Trail camera designed for automatic monitoring of forest areas, properties, farms, plots, and habitats of wild animals. The device takes photos and recordings after detecting motion and, thanks to 4G connectivity, can send saved materials to the cloud and send notifications to a smartphone.
Recording in 4K quality makes it possible to obtain a detailed image of the monitored area. The model works well for wildlife observation, land surveying, and monitoring remote sites. The camouflage housing helps reduce the visibility of the device and makes discreet placement in the surroundings easier.
housing, mounting, ip66 rating
The durable camouflage housing makes it easier to conceal the device among vegetation, branches, and forest floor cover. The design is equipped with mounting points and a nylon strap, which allows the camera to be attached to a tree, pole, or another stable element.
The standard 1/4" thread also allows the device to be mounted on a compatible tripod or holder. The front panel features the lens, PIR sensor, and IR illumination elements. Hinges and the side closure make it easier to access the inside of the housing and the controls.
The housing meets the requirements of IP66 protection. This means complete protection against dust and resistance to powerful water jets. The trail camera can operate in a temperature range from -20 to +60 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for use in different seasons.
recording photos and videos
The camera automatically takes photos and records videos after motion is detected by the PIR sensor. Available resolutions include still images up to 60 MP and videos up to 4K. Lower resolutions are also available, helping reduce file size and increase the number of materials that can be saved to the memory card.
The trail camera saves photos in JPG format and recordings in AVI format. Each recording can be supplemented with a stamp containing the date, time, temperature, and moon phase. This information makes later analysis of the materials easier and helps determine the conditions in which the recording was made.
The model has different recording modes:
- in burst mode, it is possible to take 1, 2, or 3 photos after a single motion detection.
- a video mode and a combined mode are also available, in which the camera takes a photo and records a video. The length of a single video can be set in the range from 5 to 20 seconds.
- the time-lapse recording function allows photos or videos to be taken at specified time intervals - from 1 second to 24 hours. This mode does not require motion to be detected by the PIR sensor every time, so it works well for documenting slow and long-term processes.
day and night image, wide field of view, fast response
During the day, the camera records a color image. After dark, it automatically switches to black and white mode and activates infrared illumination with a wavelength of 850 nm. The IR illuminator has a range of up to 20 meters, allowing the device to record objects located at a considerable distance even in complete darkness.
The focus range during the day is from 1 meter to infinity, while at night it covers a distance from 1.5 to 20 meters. The lens with a focal length of 4 mm provides a wide viewing angle of 120 degrees. This makes it possible to cover a large section of terrain and increases the chance of recording an object moving in front of the camera.
The trigger time is from 0.2 to 0.5 seconds. After motion is detected, the device quickly starts recording, which is important when observing animals, people, or vehicles moving through the monitored area.
PIR motion sensor
The trail camera uses a PIR sensor that responds to motion and temperature changes in the field of view. Sensitivity can be adjusted to the operating conditions by selecting one of 3 levels:
- high
- normal
- low
Adjustment helps reduce the number of accidental activations or increase sensitivity when observing small and fast-moving objects. The interval between subsequent triggers can be set in the range from 5 seconds to 60 minutes.
4G transmission and remote access
Built-in support for the 4G network enables remote access to the camera and transmission of multimedia materials. After inserting a SIM card and configuring the device in the TrailCam Go app, the user can receive photos and videos, manage settings, and use live view.
Materials can be stored in the cloud, saved directly to a smartphone, or shared via email and messaging apps. Remote operation is especially useful when the camera has been mounted in a hard-to-reach location or on a remote property.
The included SIM card requires activation in the TrailCam Go app and selection of a subscription plan. A local carrier's SIM card can also be used. The camera can then operate without a subscription, and photos and videos will be saved to the microSD card.
sound recording, memory, loop recording
The built-in microphone records ambient sounds while videos are being recorded. This makes it possible to obtain a more complete record of the observed situation and helps identify events. The video material can include both image and sound, allowing it to better document the activity of people, animals, or vehicles in the monitored area.
The device supports microSD memory cards with a capacity from 4 to 128 GB (not included in the set). The available loop recording function allows the camera to continue operating after the storage medium is full. The oldest files are then automatically replaced with new ones.
screen and operation
The camera is equipped with a color LCD display with a diagonal of 2 inches. It allows viewing saved materials, changing settings, and monitoring device operation without the need to connect it to an external monitor.
The menu is available in 11 languages. It is also possible to set a 4-digit password to protect against unauthorized access to settings and saved materials. A USB Type-C port is used to connect the device to a computer. An appropriate cable is included in the set.
battery or AC power
The Levenhuk Trap LTE20 is powered by 8 AA batteries (not included in the set). This type of solution works well during field use, far from the electrical grid. The device can also be powered by an external 6 V/1 A DC power supply. This option is useful during long-term monitoring carried out near a power source.
