Kajdanki sztywne Kel-Met KM2000 Inox
Kel-Met KM2000 rigid handcuffs are a widely used model by police, state services, and private security agencies worldwide. They feature a reinforced design with a plastic handle.
Stainless steel construction
Made from stainless steel compliant with PN-EN 10088-1. The material is non-toxic, highly resistant to mechanical damage, and does not cause allergic reactions. They have no galvanic coatings such as nickel or zinc, ensuring compliance with EU directive 76/769/EEC-94/27/EEC for skin-contact products, as well as planned national regulations.
Structure and mechanism
The set includes two wrist cuffs with a plastic handle. Inside the handle is an armored-type chain connecting the cuffs via rotating joints. The design minimizes the risk of abrasions and injuries during proper use. They feature wide wrist openings, tailored to the needs of uniformed services in Poland.
The cuffs use a steel construction with a double-pawl locking mechanism and a movable ratchet arm. Each cuff has a ratchet lock that can be set in any position to prevent over-tightening. Protection against accidental opening is activated by a pin on the key. Pressing it locks the cuff, turning the key releases it.
Strength requirements
The handcuffs withstand static forces:
- 2300 N breaking force – applied in the plane of one cuff with the other fixed; functionality remains after release.
- 500 N bending force – applied perpendicularly to the cuff plane on the opposite side of the mounting point, without permanent deformation.
Standards and certifications
Kel-Met handcuffs comply with the following standards:
- PN-EN 10088-1 – defines the chemical composition and mechanical properties of stainless steels.
- 76/769/EEC-94/27/EEC – EU directive restricting heavy metals, including nickel, in skin-contact products; no nickel or zinc coatings.
- KGP Standard – meets Polish National Police Headquarters requirements for structure, safety, and functionality.
