This fire starter did not impress me much, I bought it out of pure curiosity, and after trying it, I'm going back to the traditional matches, which almost always work. You can start a fire with this fire starter, but it takes a lot of time and patience.

Magnesium flint allowing you to quickly light a fire in the field. Thanks to its compact size, it will easily fit in your pants or jacket pocket. With its help, you can light, for example, a gas stove, a tourist stove or a campfire, which is a source of heat and allows you to prepare a meal away from home.
The whole consists of a magnesium block combined with a flint and a spark ignition plate. After scraping the magnesium shavings off the block with a sparking tin, the back of a knife or any other sharp-edged tool, proceed to strike sparks on the previously accumulated shavings until they are set on fire. One movement allows sparks to be produced at a temperature of 3000 deg. C, which, falling on the previously prepared fire starter, will produce a flame even in severe frost or heavy rain.
The fire starter is equipped with a ball chain allowing it to be attached to keys or a backpack.

In my opinion, the rod is too small; it sparks well, but it's not very comfortable to use. Its compact size is a plus. In an urgent situation, it works as a source for lighting a fire.
