Highlander Outdoor Cabar Wood Burning Stove

I bought this stove at the end of 2024 and after a few uses, I can confidently say that it is a solid, functional piece of good-quality equipment. The configuration option is particularly noteworthy.

A product that is definitely worth recommending. It’s a foldable multi-fuel stove, solidly built but lighter than its German counterpart. The double walls with ventilation holes supply oxygen to the firebox very well after heating up, which promotes efficient combustion. When fully loaded with biomass, a high flame appears at first, and after a moment the fire stabilizes and spreads evenly. The stove not only supports biomass, but there is also a small tray for solid fuel included for cooking on the go. When assembling, I turn the grate upside down and place the tray on it – you can pour liquid fuel on it if you don’t have fuel tablets, or – as I do – use an alcohol burner instead of the tray. It’s a multifunctional device at a good price :D Sometimes, some mess kits are unstable on the spread grates and small cups can fall inside, but this can be solved. When burning biomass, I suggest placing the stove on the ground or on a thermally insulated, non-combustible pad. Unfortunately, the stove does not have a separate ash pan, and there are holes in the grate at the bottom. Fun fact: when folded, it fits in a pouch inside the Alpinus Jukatan steel mess kit. Maybe it’ll be possible to fit a small gas burner in it to further expand its use, who knows :)

Great, compact wood stove. Thanks to its thoughtful design, when you get a good fire going, the flame resembles that of a gas stove and it hardly smokes at all.
