The length is appropriate if you need a solid hold in the ground. My only comment is the weight—one stake, according to my scale, is about 30g. For comparison, a set of 4 shorter (18 cm) stakes from another military store offer weighs a total of 48g. The difference is about 70g for 4 pieces, which is worth considering depending on how you plan to pack your gear.
