The Highlander Fhior FH-PAC 2 30L Backpack - Dark Grey is a great choice for a day hike in the mountains. It easily holds all the necessary items, and the frame can be quickly removed if you want to modify it. I'm very satisfied with this purchase and definitely recommend it.
The 30-liter trekking backpack made of lightweight and durable 600D polyester with PU coating.
Inside the main compartment there are two large mesh pockets, space for a hydration cartridge and an organizer for small items such as keys, pens and a notebook. The compartment can be accessed via a U-shaped sewn-in zipper, which allows the backpack to be unfolded for easy access to packed items.
The model is also equipped with two large front zippered pockets and two side pockets, e.g. for bottles. The D-rings on the suspenders and MOLLE/PALS system webbing on the front and sides of the backpack allow to attach additional items.
The carrying system consists of soft adjustable suspenders with a chest strap and a wide hip belt (with additional pockets), which allows to evenly distribute the weight while moving in demanding terrain. Ergonomic Airmesh pads are responsible for air circulation on the back.
The backpack is equipped with a velcro panel that allows you to attach any patch or emblem, such as a national flag, unit emblem or so-called Morale Patches, so you can give your backpack an individual character.

I am surprised that at such an attractive price (considering its features) you can get such a sturdy and functional backpack. This product stands out for offering solutions and accessories usually found in premium models, and often even surpasses them. In most "tactical" backpacks up to 40 liters, the hip belt is just a thin strap, but here it is comfortably padded and really comfortable. Another advantage is the long zipper, which allows the backpack to open almost completely, making it easy to access items at the bottom. The shoulder straps are comfortable and adjustable, and the elastic pocket lets you store, for example, a jacket. It performed excellently during my trip to the Tatras. The only thing missing for total satisfaction is additional straps for attaching a sleeping mat. Nevertheless, for this price, it's amazing—I even added an aluminum frame from Wisport for extra stability.

I purchased the backpack from Militaria (Dark Grey version), planning to use it for one-day mountain trips. Previously, I used smaller backpacks (maximum 16-20 liters), which couldn't fit clothes like a jacket or sweatshirt that I took off during the day when it got warmer. The new backpack does its job perfectly – the main compartment is very spacious, and for a five-day trip, I managed to pack all the clothes I needed to change. The zipper works very smoothly and lightly, at times it even feels almost too easy to operate. There is an additional, smaller side entrance to the main compartment, which allows quick access to needed items without opening the whole backpack. A downside is the lack of removable buckles, which means you can't quickly take off the backpack in a hurry. The hip belt is comfortable, but the pockets sewn into it are very small – you can't fit a phone or wallet, just small keys, a firestarter, or a small earphone case. The belt is not detachable, but when not in use, it is soft enough that it doesn't get in the way and naturally sits between your back and the backpack, which can be considered an advantage. The backpack itself looks modern; its shape is somewhat like a packed parachute, and the design is not one of those generic ones. The back panel and straps are comfortable; I have no complaints. I bought it for 229 PLN (04.2024) and can confidently recommend this model.

The backpack is exceptionally light, durable, and aesthetically made. Thanks to well-designed pockets, flexible external compartments, a detachable organizer, and the ability to fully open it as well as side access to the main compartment, it is very practical. It is very comfortable to carry. Minor drawbacks include the small size of the hip belt pockets, which could be more spacious, and the zippers, which are too loose, causing the main compartment to sometimes open fully on its own when the upper pockets are heavily loaded.

The backpack doesn't stand out, but it's really nice. In my opinion, it's a cheaper equivalent of the ZipperFox, especially considering the price of 220 PLN at Militaria. It's comfortable, fits well after proper adjustment and fastening of the hip belt. The padding on the back is quite pronounced, which improves air circulation and carrying comfort. The zippers work very smoothly; you can completely unzip the backpack along its entire length. I think the number of compartments, extra pockets, and storage is sufficient. Inside, there's a nice organizer panel. For this price, the material and build quality are good. As for the downsides—it isn't as spacious as most backpacks labeled 30L, probably because it's quite tall. It also lacks a rain cover and compression or tie-down straps, but for people who value simplicity this might be an advantage, since nothing sticks out or dangles. I recommend watching a presentation of this backpack on the Czech Military Range channel on YouTube. I'll add that the backpack is a bit different from the one in the photos—the photos show the Highlander logo embroidered, while my unit has a Fhior logo, which you can check on the official Highlander Forces website. I suggest updating the photos on the Militaria website. Best regards!
