Helikon-Tex Pilgrim Pants - Coyote

Rugged outdoor pants crafted from durable and flexible DuraCanvas fabric in Coyote color. The material can be additionally waxed to enhance water resistance. The design, featuring a slightly higher back, offers improved kidney protection against cold and wind.

8 practical pockets

The pants come with a total of eight pockets:

  • two hip pockets that feature reinforced edges
  • two spacious cargo pockets
  • two additional pockets situated between the cargo and hip pockets

The thigh cargo pockets are secured with buttons. They are lined with mesh to enhance airflow beneath the fabric when open. The pockets between the cargo and hip pockets are fastened with YKK zippers.

The waistband secures with velcro, enabling free adjustment of the pants' circumference. Additionally, it's noteworthy to mention the capability to adjust the leg circumference, minimalist suspender attachment points, and wide belt loops that can fit up to 40 mm. On the sides, there are loops that permit the attachment of extra gear, for instance, using a carabiner.

The pants are equipped with pockets designed for internal knee protectors that are compatible with Low Profile Protective Pads, ensuring joint protection during field operations.

I placed an order, paid for it, and the package arrived lightning fast. I have already waterproofed the black parts (knees and back). On Friday, I'm taking them on my first trip to the woods. I have plenty of pockets, which I really appreciate. The material is incredibly durable, which is very important to me. There's no need to hesitate—I've bought them, so it's time for an adventure. See you on the trail!

These Helikon-Tex trousers have been a delightful discovery for me — much like finding the military.eu website. My interest in outdoor activities has always centered on hiking, yet I’ve always approached it with a prepper mindset. I prefer carrying certain items (flashlight, pocket knife, keys, etc.) on my person rather than in a backpack; after all, you’re more likely to take off or lose your pack during a hike than your trousers. That’s why this style of trouser suits me perfectly, thanks to its design, material quality, and durability. If this approach appeals to you, then the Pilgrim Anorak is probably one of your best options. As for sizing, at 184 cm tall, with a 105 cm waist and weighing 90 kg, the XL fits me perfectly.

A Helikon classic – durable, functional, and comfortable, although I had to lose a few pounds to make them fit perfectly. The cut is typical for Helikon, designed for people with an average build. I’ve been using them for several years as my main pants for walking in the woods and so far I haven’t noticed any wear or damage. Ventilation is quite decent, and the pleated pockets serve their purpose just as advertised. I have no complaints and definitely recommend them.

I just received these pants, and... what a wonderful surprise when I opened my package! The pants fit perfectly (32/32 for 1.70m, 71kg), I love the color, the fact that the back rises high is a real advantage for me. I will order more in different colors. Initially, I loved Fjällräven clothing, but they are overpriced, especially for wearing them out in the forest. These pants have the same composition, the cut is great, and they are very comfortable. A big thank you to Helikon, I'm going to build my own little collection ;-)

These pants are fantastic. I slid down a 35-meter cliff and there wasn't any abrasion. I've already conquered several easier and more challenging peaks in them. I also use them as my main pair of bushcraft pants. Highly recommended.

A comfortable and functional outdoor pant. I also have the Woodsman, but for extended activities I need more storage space. The Pilgrim offers that perfectly. I specifically wanted brown pants. Too many green pants in the closet. 😉 But I'm not a fan of the color-contrasting leg sections. It would be nice if the pants were also available in solid brown, like the taiga green. In short: in brown, a bargain with proven fit and top craftsmanship!

Another pair of Helikon pants has joined my collection. This time, I chose a model in two colors. The spacious pockets are very practical. I may decide to buy another color as well.

These are another pair of Helikon pants in my closet. They are very comfortable and have a lot of pockets. They performed perfectly during my first hike. Before my autumn trips, I plan to buy another 2-3 pairs. I can recommend them with a clear conscience.

After five years, I decided to buy this model of pants again. Regular pants don't have so many pockets, and these offer everything I need. I'm already planning another purchase, maybe in a different color.

I am very satisfied with the purchase. Aside from the cut and pocket placement, which are a matter of personal taste—though nothing bothered me—the most important thing is that the pants withstood demanding conditions. I walked through the forest, built a shelter, and they were exposed to sparks from a campfire and various weather conditions (in full sun they became heavy, but that's normal for this type of pants). The positive reviews are well-deserved, I really recommend them.

Nice pants made from comfortable and durable material. I like the placement of the pockets and their functionality. They have a good appearance from all sides. Thank you, Militaria, for the discount coupon after the price drop following my purchase.

The pants are very well made, with excellent material. As always, Helikon offers a great price-quality-appearance balance. When I ordered them, I already knew that size XS would be a bit wide below the knee and the pant legs would be long, but this can be easily fixed by a tailor. I'm satisfied with the purchase.

Solid work pants for working in the forest, on the land, on a plot, or for other activities. The pockets take a little getting used to or require a brief learning curve. I feel that the material fades quickly, which I also noticed with the SMOCK model. This doesn’t affect comfort of use, but at this price, it’s a bit of a shame.

Overall, the pants are great. I have countless clothes from Helikon Tex. But what was the designer thinking with the pockets? The side slit pockets are so tight at the top that you can hardly get your hand in, let alone get a key out. Terrible. Then there are the thigh pockets. If I'm already layering several pockets on top of each other, they should be large enough. For example, if I have my wallet in one thigh pocket, nothing else fits behind it. What's the point of that? Thigh pockets are nice, but way too small. There's a pleat in the back, but the front is sewn flat to the leg. Why not put a pleat in the front too? Even the old German Army moleskin pants had that. Some of the pockets on these pants are really useless. Very annoying. Outdoor pants need storage space. Basically, these pants have it... just not usable because they're too small, too tight, and missing pleats.

Helikon Pilgrim pants are very durable and handle moisture well. I use them while cycling in the fall and winter, and they perform flawlessly. I also own other models of this brand (Versa Stretch and UTP PolyCotton Stretch Rip-Stop), but in my opinion, the Pilgrim are the most solid. The only downside is the placement of the side zipper pocket, which is just above the buttoned pocket (in the UTP PolyCotton Stretch Rip-Stop model, the pocket placement is perfect).
