Unfortunately, this shirt did not meet my expectations. On the plus side, it has a nice color and an interesting look, but I noticed two main flaws that made me decide to return it. First, the cut is a bit strange – size XL is usually right for me (I am 182 cm tall and weigh 100 kg), but this model fits very tightly around my back and underarms. Other dimensions are okay, but I’m afraid the next size up (XXL) would be too wide in the shoulders. The second downside is the material – it’s not very pleasant to the touch, rather stiff, and somewhat reminds me of a jacket. While I understand it’s "rip-stop" with a blend of synthetic fibers, I personally prefer softer cotton.

Two years ago I bought a Defender shirt in olive shade and it still looks new because I didn't wear it very often. However, this year the heat was intense, so I decided that a lighter color would be better for everyday use. I chose size M again (I’m 176 cm/104 kg) and in over 30°C I wear it to work, shopping, and for walks. Combined with Helikon UTS shorts, I don’t mind the heat.

This is my first shirt from this brand, so I can’t assess its durability yet, but it’s exactly what I expected. I really like it. If it proves itself, I’ll buy another, this time with long sleeves. Regarding size: I ordered an M, it measures 56 cm across the chest (I'm 176 cm, 79 kg, and 104 cm chest circumference). This size is just right, there’s a little room left, a smaller one would probably be too tight.

I really appreciate the Helikon Defender series. I'm used to this cut and the pocket layout – to me it’s a bullseye. The shirt is solid, durable, and slightly elastic thanks to the elastane, though not very breathable. I mostly wear it as a second layer over a cotton or thermal shirt. It fits great and it’s hard to look bad in it. For my figure of 184 cm/100 kg, the XL size fits like it was made for me. I really like the civilian color.

This is another purchase after three Defenders with long sleeves. The shirt is comfortable, perfectly made, and very practical. It proved itself during summer trips around Lower Silesia castles. I honestly recommend it.
