Main compartment equipped with a two-way YKK zipper can hold personal items, basic medical supplies, and a light jacket. Inside, there is a mesh pocket with a zipper and an organizer attached with Velcro with elastic loops and three flat, smaller pockets. Side wings contain MOLLE/PALS straps for attaching additional equipment. There is a zipper pocket on the front. On the inner side, there is an additional pocket for documents, for example. The Helikon-Tex Bandicoot is compatible with the Versatile Insert System, allowing the use of various organizers.

velcro panel

A velcro panel (hook-and-loop) is placed on the front, allowing the attachment of any patches or emblems such as a national flag, unit insignia, or so-called Morale Patches, giving the waist bag an individual character.

adjustable carrying strap

The carrying system is a fully adjustable hip belt closed with a durable buckle by Woojin. If necessary, the strap can be completely removed, and the waist bag can be attached to a belt.

    I am not satisfied with the purchase – after a week of use, the zipper on the waist bag broke. The original strap is very short and won't fasten even around a thigh, and after buying a longer one you can't adjust it because it's too long. The workmanship is very poor, I do not recommend the product.

    I bought another waist bag from Helikon and unfortunately I was disappointed again – the color is great, but I expected more durability. In the previous model, the plastic buckle broke quickly, and here the strings untie by themselves, which is very annoying. What I dislike the most, however, is that the part with the 'hook' slides out easily during vigorous movement, for example at the shooting range. In my opinion, this solution is not the best, so overall I rate it a weak 4.
