Dobson GSO 8" is a large mirror telescope built in the Newtonian system, guaranteeing excellent value for money. The diameter of the main mirror is 250 mm, the light intensity is equal to f/6 and the focal length is 1200 mm. A telescope with such optical parameters allows you to successfully observe nebular objects. Under dark skies, hundreds of them can be found, and a good portion of them can be observed with details. Images of planets are very bright, with a lot of real details. The equipment is also recommended for observing comets and faint variable stars.
.
The telescope is installed on a so-calledDobson - a special azimuthal mount. This type of mounting is very easy to use, the observer makes simple rotations vertically and horizontally. Due to the materials used and the method of mounting the tube the whole set is extremely stable, insensitive to gusts of wind and accidental vibrations. The Dobsonian mount by GSO moves very precisely, as a special bearing with rollers located between the lower base plates is responsible for this.
.
One of the most recognizable elements of GSO telescopes is the good quality extractor built in the Crayford system and made of CNC-machined aluminum. Focus adjustment is done precisely with a 1:10 micrometer screw, and the focuser's operating resistance can be adjusted as needed with a special screw. It is also possible to lock the focuser in a position that suits the user.
.
Delta Optical-GSO Dobson telescopes have a built-in fan located under the main mirror. Such a fan, powered by 12 volts, improves air circulation around the mirror and speeds up its cooling.
Basic features of the telescope:
.
- Main mirror with a diameter of 200 mm and a focal length of 1200 mm,
.
- Efficiency of the main mirror 94%,
.
- Built-in fan to help cool the main mirror,
.
- Robust Crayford eyepiece focuser manufactured by GSO with a 1:10 microfocus. This focuser is made very precisely, shows no play, and can withstand accessories weighing up to 3 kilograms,
- Erfle eyepiece with a focal length of 30 mm, ideal for observing nebulae, clusters and large areas of the sky. The field of view of this eyepiece is 65 degrees, which in practice allows to obtain an image of 2.2 degrees in diameter,
.
- Plossel eyepiece with a focal length of 9 mm. Providing good image sharpness at higher magnifications, designed for observing the Moon and planets,
.
- The attachment of the tube to the tripod is made in a precise manner. The tube is suspended using solid steel rollers. Pressure adjustment on both sides and very precise.
The set includes:
.
- 2" eyepiece, 30 mm,
- 1.25" eyepiece, 9 mm,
- 35 mm extension tube,
- 8x50 straight finder,
- cooling fan for the main mirror along with a battery basket.
