Temperature ratings and usage conditions
Temperature marks for the Svalbard sleeping bag conforming to EN 13537 criteria:
- T-comfort: -2 C – the lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably,
- T-limit: -7 C – the lowest temperature at which a man can sleep without discomfort,
- T-extreme: -25 C – the minimum temperature for survival. Not advisable for regular use.
10D Rip-Stop nylon with Water Repellent coating
Both the outer and inner layers consist of lightweight 10D Rip-Stop nylon with a hydrophobic WR (Water Repellent) coating that minimizes moisture intake. The Rip-Stop weave offers abrasion resistance and inhibits further damage if tears occur. Inside, loops are available for attaching a thermal liner along with a small pocket for essentials.
Goose down filling, H-shaped construction
Superior thermal insulation is delivered by Polish goose down in a 93+/7 ratio, paired with a 900 cuin fill power. It boasts exceptional compressibility, making it easy to pack compactly. H-shaped baffles ensure the filling stays in place. The shark fin-shaped footbox conforms to the natural foot position, providing enhanced thermal comfort and increased internal room. The bottom is stitched at a 70-degree angle.
Left-side zipper, Anti-Bite system
The model is equipped with a two-way zipper located on the left side, enabling opening from both the top and bottom. Enhanced for convenience, a fluorescent puller makes operating the zipper in the dark simpler. With the Anti-Bite system, the fabric is protected from being caught. A thermal baffle on the inside adds security to the zipper. This model is compatible for connection with another sleeping bag from the same series.
Integrated hood, DUO drawcord, thermal collar
The 3D-shaped hood offers superior insulation for the head, reducing heat loss in cold climates. Its design also guards against wind and moisture. The DUO drawcord integrates elastic around the neck, enabling the arm to move freely without needing adjustments, along with a rear strap for easy loosening. The internal thermal collar features a down-filled tube with a drawcord at shoulder level to effectively prevent cold air from seeping in.
