Temperatures and usage conditions
Operating temperatures for the Svalbard sleeping bag are defined according to the EN 13537 standard:
- T-comfort: 2 C – the lowest temperature at which a woman can have a comfortable night's sleep,
- T-limit: -3 C – the minimum temperature where a man can sleep without experiencing discomfort,
- T-extreme: -18 C – the lowest temperature for survival purposes, not advised for regular use.
10D Rip-Stop nylon with Water Repellent coating
The exterior and interior both utilize lightweight 10D Rip-Stop nylon featuring a hydrophobic WR coating (Water Repellent). This impregnation reduces moisture absorption, and the Rip-Stop design guards against abrasion and further tearing. Inside, a small pocket is available for essentials, along with loops for attaching an insulating liner.
Goose down filling, H-chamber construction
Exceptional thermal insulation and airflow are guaranteed by Polish goose down with a 93+/7 blend. With a fill power of 900 cuin, the bag offers great compressibility, making it easy to pack tightly. H-shaped baffles prevent the down from shifting. An additional insulating layer in the footbox, equipped with a drawcord, enhances warmth and comfort around the feet.
Left-side zipper, Anti-Bite system
The model is equipped with a two-way zipper on the left side, which allows it to be completely opened from the top, making entry and exit more convenient. A fluorescent puller allows for operation in low-light conditions. The Anti-Bite system prevents the fabric from snagging in the zipper. An internal thermal baffle offers additional protection.
Integrated hood with DUO drawcord
The 3D hood enhances thermal performance by enveloping the head and minimizing heat escape. Its design provides additional defense against wind and moisture. The Duo drawcord, a combination of elastic and strap, facilitates intuitive adjustments—elastic around the neck allows for quick hand access, while the back strap releases specific sections, particularly beneficial at night.
