Temperatures and usage conditions
The operating temperature range of the Svalbard sleeping bag conforms to the EN 13537 standard:
- T-comfort: 5 C – the minimum temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably through the night,
- T-limit: 0 C – the lowest temperature at which a man can sleep without any discomfort,
- T-extreme: -14 C – the minimum survival temperature. This is not suggested for frequent use.
10D Rip-Stop nylon with Water Repellent coating
Both the exterior and interior are crafted from lightweight 10D Rip-Stop nylon featuring a hydrophobic WR coating (Water Repellent). This treatment reduces moisture absorption, and the Rip-Stop design prevents wear and further tearing. Inside, a small pocket holds essentials, and there are loops for securing an insulating liner.
Goose down filling, H-chamber construction
Thermal insulation and airflow are guaranteed by Polish goose down with a 93+/7 ratio. A 900 cuin fill power offers high compressibility, enabling the bag to be packed tightly. H-shaped baffles prevent down from shifting. The footbox with a drawcord includes an additional insulating layer to enhance thermal comfort around the feet.
Left-side zipper, Anti-Bite system
The model incorporates a two-way zipper on the left side, allowing it to be fully opened either from the top or the bottom for easier access. A fluorescent puller ensures usability in the dark. The Anti-Bite system prevents the fabric from snagging on the zipper. An internal thermal baffle enhances the level of protection.
Integrated hood with DUO drawcord
The 3D hood enhances thermal efficiency by enclosing the head and minimizing heat loss. Its design offers extra protection against wind and moisture. Featuring a Duo drawcord, which combines elastic and strap, it allows for intuitive adjustments—elastic around the neck enables quick hand extension, while the back strap can loosen specific areas, ideal for nighttime use.
