Temperatures and usage conditions
In compliance with the EN 13537 standard, the operating temperatures for the Svalbard sleeping bag are as follows:
- T-comfort: 8 C – the lowest temperature at which a woman can sleep comfortably through the night,
- T-limit: 4 C – the minimum temperature allowing a man to sleep without discomfort,
- T-extreme: -9 C – the lowest survival temperature, not advisable for regular use.
10D Rip-Stop nylon with Water Repellent coating
Both the exterior and interior are crafted from lightweight 10D Rip-Stop nylon featuring a hydrophobic WR coating (Water Repellent). This treatment minimizes moisture uptake, while the Rip-Stop fabric resists abrasion and prevents further tearing. Inside, a small pocket accommodates necessities and loops provide a way to attach an insulating liner.
Goose down filling, H-chamber construction
Thermal insulation and airflow are guaranteed by Polish goose down in a 93+/7 ratio. Featuring a fill power of 900 cuin, this ensures high compressibility, allowing for compact packing. H-shaped baffles prevent the down from shifting. The footbox equipped with a drawcord includes an extra insulating layer to enhance thermal comfort for the feet.
Left-side zipper, Anti-Bite system
The design includes a two-way zipper on the left side, which allows it to be completely opened from both the top and bottom, simplifying entry and exit. A fluorescent puller facilitates operation in low-light conditions. The Anti-Bite system prevents the fabric from snagging in the zipper. An internal thermal baffle offers additional protection.
Integrated hood with DUO drawcord
The 3D hood enhances thermal performance by enveloping the head and minimizing heat loss. Its design offers additional defense against wind and moisture. The Duo drawcord, featuring both elastic and strap components, ensures intuitive adjustment—elastic around the neck facilitates quick hand extension, while the back strap selectively loosens areas, which is particularly beneficial at night.
