It's important to remember that I am especially sensitive to cold. To the point: the sleeping bag is more like a thicker sheet. At home, with a temperature of 22°C, on an air mattress, you sleep well as long as you're lying on your back. When lying on your side, you feel that your back radiates more heat than you'd like. The sleeping bag is compact and lightweight when packed, but I would consider sleeping in it only during exceptionally warm nights. For people who get cold easily, I recommend the Ardala sleeping bag (currently unavailable on militaria.pl), or for more certainty, the warmer Finmark model. It's a well-made and good product; I will probably keep it more for light cover while relaxing in a hammock on a summer day rather than for overnight use at 17°C.
Fjord Nansen Fredvang XL 740 g Sleeping Bag - left
Robust sleeping bag model in Sapphire hue, featuring an anatomical mummy design to provide a cozy body position and allow ease of movement while sleeping. Constructed from durable Rip-Stop weave polyester, it boasts a resilient outer layer and Eko Loft Hollowfiber insulation.
Temperatures and usage conditions
The Fredvang sleeping bag temperature ratings adhere to the EN 13537 standard:
- T-max: 26 C – the maximum temperature at which overheating is avoided,
- T-comfort: 17 C – the minimum temperature where a woman can sleep comfortably throughout the night,
- T-limit: 12 C – the minimum temperature where a man can sleep through the night without discomfort,
- T-extreme: 1 C – the minimum temperature at which survival inside the bag is possible. Not advisable for regular use.
Rip-Stop reinforced polyester, PoliCotton lining
The outer shell crafted from 210T Rip-Stop polyester delivers effective protection against wear and potential damage, while also preventing tears from spreading. The inner layer, made of PoliCotton, blends the softness of cotton with the resilience of polyester, ensuring a comfortable touch and excellent breathability. This combination renders the bag ideal for challenging adventures as well as tranquil outdoor nights. A small pocket is available inside for accessories, along with loops to secure a thermal liner.
Eko Loft Hollowfiber filling
Thermal insulation is ensured by Eko Loft Hollowfiber synthetic fleece, constructed from spiral-twisted, siliconized polyester fibers. The quilting of the outer layers secures the insulation in place and prevents it from shifting. This insulation maintains its thermal efficiency even when wet, washed, or heavily used. It does not trigger allergic reactions and is suitable for individuals allergic to natural down.
Left-side zipper, Anti-Bite system
The sleeping bag features a two-way zipper situated on the left side, facilitating full opening from both the top and the bottom for enhanced usability. The Anti-Bite system efficiently prevents the fabric from snagging in the zipper. Additionally, the zipper is sheltered by an internal thermal flap. This model is compatible for connection with another sleeping bag from the same series.
Integrated hood with DUO drawcord
The 3D hood enhances thermal insulation by enveloping the head, safeguarding against heat loss during cold evenings. Its anatomically designed shape boosts resistance to wind and moisture. The Duo drawcord incorporates both elastic and strap components – the neck elastic permits arm extension without adjustment, while the back strap allows for quick tension modifications, particularly convenient at night.
Convenient transport and storage
When packed, this model is 27 x 14 cm in size and weighs only 740 g, allowing for easy transport without notably adding to the weight of your equipment.

Lightweight and works well for camping in a tent in spring, summer, and fall. The zipper sometimes catches the fabric when closing, especially when it's dark and you're already inside the sleeping bag, but so far this hasn't been a problem – the fabric can be easily freed from the zipper.
