The Outlong version, compared to the classic Kanken model, features increased capacity, an improved carrying system with padded straps, a rear Airmesh panel, and a chest strap, resulting in greater comfort when carrying heavier loads. Additionally, the backpack has a padded laptop pocket, spacious side pockets, and a practical lower compartment, allowing for better organization of gear during daily use and trips.

The backpack is made from Vinylon F, a durable synthetic material with high resistance to mechanical damage, abrasion, and wear. A distinctive feature of this material is its ability to increase weave density upon exposure to moisture, which further enhances rain resistance without the need for additional protective coatings. As a result, the backpack effectively protects its contents from light rain and retains its properties for a long time.

The model is equipped with a main compartment featuring a wide opening closed with a zipper, providing convenient access to the backpack's entire contents.
