Eberlestock Skycrane II Backpack 73.3 l - Dry Earth

Backpack with a 73.3-liter capacity in Dry Earth color crafted from abrasion and damage-resistant nylon, enhanced by a Rip-Stop weave. The design comprises three components: two backpacks (Skycrane J79 and Little Brother G1) plus a detachable top LP1 flap that doubles as a bag. Built for modular expansion, this model allows for further additions to the set.

Each of the three parts of the Skycrane II model can function independently or as an element of a modular system.

durable nylon, Rip-Stop weave, zippers with pulls

The nylon utilized in manufacturing is known for its high durability, making the backpack ideal for heavy-duty use. It features a Rip-Stop weave to prevent tears from expanding. The model's zippers have pulls for easier opening and closing.

2 separate backpacks with spacious loading space

The foundation of the set is the J79 backpack, featuring a roomy main compartment integrated with MOLLE/PALS system straps. Utilizing Eberlestock's patented Cam Expansion System, it enables the augmentation of load capacity and the attachment of additional gear components. The model is equipped with multiple pockets and sections for organizing the carried equipment.

The module's second part is the Little Brother backpack, offering a capacity of 35 liters. It has both top and front zipper access. The design includes a placeholder for a hydration water tank, a radio pocket compatible with PRC-117 radios, and compartments for essential gear.

Detachable flap with bag functionality

The model boasts a practical, detachable top flap with a 5-liter capacity, which can act as a separate bag that can be worn on the hips or over a shoulder, thanks to the included carrying strap. Featuring zippered pockets, it ensures secure storage for small gear and is compatible with the MOLLE/PALS attachment system.

MOLLE/PALS straps, mounting holes, rectangular Velcro

The design features numerous MOLLE/PALS system straps along with laser-cut LCS (Laser Cut System) holes for attaching extra gear. Compression straps equipped with buckles allow for reducing the backpack's volume or securing additional equipment. A rectangular Velcro on the front provides a spot for attaching any patch or emblem, such as a national flag, unit insignia, or Morale Patches.

ergonomic shoulder straps, frame, breathable mesh, carrying handle

The carrying system features a lightweight yet durable frame that blends aluminum and plastic to provide stability and prevent the backpack from deforming. Covered with breathable mesh, the back panels enhance comfort significantly, particularly during extended wear or in warm conditions. This design promotes air circulation, reducing moisture retention.

Ergonomically shaped shoulder straps and adjustable straps (hip and chest) ensure an optimal fit to the body, offering superior comfort while hiking. A convenient carrying handle is stitched at the top, simplifying the process of lifting and carrying the backpack.

Eberlestock is an American brand founded in 1985 by Glenn Eberle, an Olympian, pilot, and avid hunter. The company began by creating a lightweight and durable shooting rest, which led to further innovations. The Just One Pack backpack proved to be a breakthrough solution, allowing for comfortable carrying of weapons on the back while maintaining full freedom of movement. The company gained recognition thanks to modular systems such as the Mainframe™ frame, whose load capacity has been tested with loads of up to almost 600 kilograms. The range also includes models developed in collaboration with outdoor organizations, such as the Team Elk Pack created in partnership with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Eberlestock is also developing its own Doppel:Ganger® camouflage line, which includes Mountain, Skye, and Mirage variants, based on dual-image technology that increases camouflage effectiveness. Currently, Eberlestock, based in Boise, Idaho, is recognized as one of the leaders in designing equipment for hunters, tactical operators, and outdoor enthusiasts.

YKK zippers feature
YKK zippers

YKK zippers are high-quality zippers commonly used in clothing and accessories, manufactured by the Japanese YKK Corporation - one of the world's largest zipper manufacturers.

Rip-Stop feature
Rip-Stop

Rip-Stop weave protects the fabric from abrasions and tears. It is characterized by additional threads woven in at regular intervals, forming a mesh-like pattern. It provides high strength to the fabric, increases resistance to mechanical damage, especially tears.

System MOLLE feature
System MOLLE

MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a system for attachment of tactical equipment, used for example in backpacks or tactical vests. It provides the possibility of flexible and modular placement of various accessories and pockets, which allows personalization and optimal adjustment of the item to the specific needs of the user. It is widely used by the military, special services and survival and outdoor enthusiasts.

PALS system feature
PALS system

PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) is a modular mounting system for pockets and pouches, used in the MOLLE system. It consists of horizontally sewn rows of 1 inch (25.4 mm) wide, fixed spacing webbing (such as on a backpack) and vertical webbing for attachment and threading (on a pocket). This system is usually equipped with snaps, which further secures the pinned items.

Laser Cut System feature
Laser Cut System

LCS (Laser Cut System) is a new version of the assembly used in the MOLLE system, where instead of traditional tapes, laser-cut holes are used directly in the material. The system is much lighter than standard sewn-on PALS tapes and guarantees better camouflage. The holes are hemmed with thread to prevent fuzzing and ripping, or, as in the case of Cordura, the laser-cut edges are fused.

Cam Expansion System feature
Cam Expansion System
Cam Expansion System is an Eberlestock technology that allows you to quickly increase the capacity of your backpack thanks to expandable panels with zippers. Sliding the panels apart gives you extra space for your gear, and closing them restores the compact profile. The system ensures stability and durability in any configuration, allowing you to comfortably adjust the backpack to your current needs.
