Eberlestock Mainframe II is the core frame of the EMOD system, constructed from a combination of lightweight aluminum and durable materials. Equipped with an adjustable harness system and built-in transport shelf, it facilitates carrying heavy loads. Compatibility with Brooks 3500/7000, Vapor 2500/5000 backpacks, Batwings V2 modules, and other accessories makes it a base for a modular backpack system.

The design is based on a rigid aluminum frame with a characteristic 90 deg. angle, ensuring high resistance to deformation and stability in load-bearing, even with heavy equipment weight. The textile construction elements are made from abrasion-resistant synthetic materials that maintain their properties even with intensive use and contact with moisture and dirt.
Mainframe II functions as a standalone transport frame or in conjunction with EMOD series modules, allowing for creating setups tailored to the specifics of the expedition - from a lightweight set to a full-sized expedition backpack.
Harness system, hip belt
Contour Shoulder Harness system with micro-adjustment allows precise torso length adjustment and optimal weight distribution. This enables significant reduction of shoulder load by transferring a larger portion of the weight to the hips.
A crucial function is also played by the Cradle Hip Belt with stabilizers and a lumbar panel with a silicone coating, preventing the system from shifting during movement. This solution increases stability and minimizes the risk of chafing even during dynamic movement in the field.
Additionally, the use of air-mesh padding supports ventilation and heat dissipation, which improves thermoregulation during intense effort. Stabilizing straps allow for adjusting the load angle, bringing it closer to the center of gravity and improving the user's natural posture.
Mounting system for the Mainframe
Mainframe is the foundation of the modular EMOD system, enabling the attachment of backpacks and accessories from this series directly to the structure. The connection is achieved via YKK zippers and Duraflex HD 25 mm buckles, which integrate the backpack with the frame sides.
The system utilizes three cross compression straps with buckles, keeping the backpack stable against the frame or allowing it to be detached, creating additional transport space. This allows for carrying gear or heavy loads close to the body's center of gravity.

Along the entire length of the frame's back is a laser-cut MOLLE/PALS panel, allowing secure attachment of additional modules and pouches directly to the structure. This enables the system to be easily expanded with EMOD elements and standard MOLLE/PALS pouches, offering flexibility in gear organization and adjusting the setup for tasks.
