MultiCam is a cutting-edge camouflage pattern that was created in 2002 by the US-based company Crye Precision in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as a component of the Objective Force Warrior program. The aim was to design a versatile camouflage pattern effective across varied terrains and fluctuating environmental conditions. The MultiCam pattern incorporates seven colors that form gradient transitions among green, brown, and beige shades. Consequently, it dynamically adapts to its surroundings, reflecting shades of green in forested areas, or browns and beiges in desert regions—proving especially effective in autumn and among dry vegetation in Central and Eastern European settings. MultiCam has received global acclaim and is employed by numerous military forces and special units. In 2010, this camouflage was officially adopted by the US Army for soldiers stationed in Afghanistan, replacing the former Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). The pattern is also accessible to civilian users, making it a favored option among military and airsoft enthusiasts.
