The fleece is made of a pleasant-to-touch material. Although it's quite lightweight, it keeps warmth well. When I opened the package, I thought it was the women's version because the zipper is on the right side, but it turns out that's the standard for Columbia, maybe because this model is unisex. I've heard that in the US this is a common solution.
