Great war hammer ;] Unlike older CS axe models, this time the shiny black paint wasn't used. The head has a matte finish and feels rugged, almost like it just came fresh from the blacksmith's hammer ;] I got a perfect sample. The handle has vertical grain and the head is firmly fit, with no gaps! Unfortunately, in another model I purchased before, it was much worse. Well, with CS it's always a bit of a gamble.
The Cold Steel Spontoon Hawk by its design is reminiscent of American tomahawks designed for combat. The head of the characteristic curved shape with two cutting edges converging into a sharp spike is characterized by excellent penetration, thanks to which the tomahawk is ideal for piercing. Someóre traditional tomahawks were equipped with a cybucket placed on the hilt and a hollow handle, which together allowed the axe to be used as a pipe. The Spontoon Hawk is equipped with a dummy pipe tibia, whichóra can be used as a hammer.
The head was made of forged 1055 carbon steel, whichós heat treatment was made in such a wayóas to ensure high impact strength while ensuring good working sharpness hold.
The handle on which the head is set is made of durable hickory wood.

Great war hammer ;] Compared to previous versions of CS axes, this one doesn't use that shiny black paint. The head is matte and looks rather raw, as if it just came straight from the blacksmith ;] I received a flawless piece. The handle has even grain and the head fits well, no gaps! Unfortunately, with another model I ordered, it wasn't so good. Well, with CS, it's a bit of a lottery.
