Celestron HummingBird Spotting Scope 7-22x50 ED - Angled
The spotting scope with a compact design was developed for people looking for lightweight optical equipment for observing nature, landscapes, birds, and distant objects in the field. Its small size and low weight of just 540 g make it easy to carry comfortably in a backpack or bag.
The model features an objective lens with a diameter of 50 mm and variable magnification ranging from 7 to 22x. The prism system uses BaK-4 glass, valued in optics for its bright image and even illumination across the entire surface.
durable nitrogen-filled construction
The scope body is waterproof and nitrogen-filled. The use of gas reduces the risk of the optical elements fogging up on the inside during sudden temperature changes. This solution allows observation in conditions of increased humidity, during light precipitation, and in colder times of the year. The housing features rubberized adjustment rings that improve magnification and focus adjustment. Their textured surface improves grip.
ED optics and FMC coatings
The design uses an objective lens made of low-dispersion ED glass. The material reduces chromatic aberration, the phenomenon of colored fringing appearing along the edges of high-contrast objects. This results in more natural color reproduction and a sharper image, especially when observing bird silhouettes, branches, buildings, or landscapes against a bright sky.
The optical elements are coated with multilayer anti-reflective FMC (Fully Multi-Coated) coatings. The coatings reduce light reflections on lens surfaces, increasing light transmission and image contrast. Combined with the 50 mm objective lens and a twilight factor of 18.7, the design supports observation in lower light, for example in the morning, in the evening, or on a cloudy day.
variable 7-22x magnification and field of view
The eyepiece allows smooth magnification adjustment from 7 to 22x. The 7x setting provides a bright image, a wide perspective, and makes handheld observation easier. The angular field of view ranges from 5.1 to 2.2 degrees, and the linear field of view at a distance of 1000 m falls within the range of 88.7-38.5 m. This solution makes it easier to track moving animals and observe wide areas.
At 22x magnification, more detailed observation of objects located farther from the observer is possible. The minimum focusing distance is 3 m, which also allows viewing objects located relatively close by.
adjustable eyecup, angled design
The spotting scope stands out with its angled design, in which the eyepiece is positioned at an angle to the objective lens axis. This arrangement makes observation easier while sitting, standing, or using a tripod, without the need to tilt the head excessively. It also works well when observing objects positioned higher up, such as birds in tree canopies.
The adjustable eyecup allows the eye position to be matched to the eyepiece. The eye relief is 15 mm, which makes comfortable observation easier also for people wearing corrective glasses - after properly adjusting the eyecup.
interchangeable eyepiece and tripod thread
The spotting scope is equipped with standard eyepiece mounts with a diameter of 1.25". The included eyepiece can be replaced with a compatible astronomical eyepiece in the same standard. This makes it possible to match optical parameters such as magnification or field of view to the type of observation being carried out.
A 1/4" tripod thread is located on the bottom of the housing. It allows the spotting scope to be mounted on a tripod or monopod, which helps stabilize the image during observation at higher magnification. The lightweight design also allows the use of compact tripod accessories that do not excessively increase the weight of the equipment.

MILITARY is a premium dealer of Celestron.
Celestron is an American company specializing in the production of optical equipment, operating continuously since 1960. From the beginning of its activity, it has developed innovative solutions supporting both amateur astronomers and professional users. It gained popularity thanks to Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, which set new standards in astronomical observation. Breakthrough technologies developed by Celestron include, among others, the automatic StarSense AutoAlign alignment system and the NexStar controller, which make sky observation much easier. Advanced telescopes from the EdgeHD series are also used in scientific observatories, and Fastar technology allows exceptionally fast sky imaging while maintaining high detail quality. The brand has earned recognition worldwide and is regarded as one of the leading telescope manufacturers in the mid-range segment.
