Astro Fi 102 is a Maksutov telescope with an aperture of 102 mm and a focal length of 1325 mm. With a magnification of 153x, the device will prove useful for observing the surface of the Moon or planets in the Solar System.
The device is operated via an app that can be installed on a tablet or smartphone. The telescope automatically positions itself on the object indicated in the application and tracks it. Astro Fi is able to directly connect to a smartphone without an external Wi-Fi source. A Red Dot-type pointer allows you to manually position the device on the observed object.
Maksutov telescopes feature reduced coma, astigmatism and chromatic aberration relative to devices in the Cassegrain system. The main difference between Maksutov and Schmidt system telescopes is the use of a meniscus corrector (negative meniscus lens made of Kron glass) in place of a correction plate.
