Care Plus Evo 3 l water filter - Blue

I gave this filter to a friend for her one-and-a-half-month trip to French Guiana, during which she also visited Suriname and Brazil. She used it to collect water from rivers like the Maroni, Rio Lawa, Oyapock, and smaller tributaries. She returned healthy, without any problems, and it’s been several months since—so the filter did a great job. Remember not to let it freeze (as with all similar filters) if you’re using it in our climate. Besides its high capacity (up to 5000L with the main filter), the replaceable cartridges are an advantage—you can separately buy both the main and carbon cartridges. Highly recommended—great product! Note: it’s a bit bigger than it looks in the pictures.

I've already filtered about 50 liters of water outdoors, even from poor streams and small brooks where I had to collect water with a cup and pour it through a buff. The taste is fine, although it's hard to say if that's the carbon's doing since it's difficult to compare before and after ;) There wasn't much enthusiasm among the four users. The bladder is tight and sturdy, and you can easily fill it with water, clip it to your backpack, and filter elsewhere. Washing and drying the bladder requires some patience and creativity. The filter itself is well and cleverly made; the threads on both ends fit regular PET bottles, allowing for various configurations – just make sure not to confuse the inlet and outlet ;) I shortened the tube myself for convenience, and I use my own carabiner and lanyard, which I take on hikes anyway. If the water flows slowly at first, it’s best to rinse the filter right away with already-filtered water. The filter cartridge (micropipes) shouldn't be stored completely dry.

A very versatile water filter, perfect for hiking when carrying an extra bottle of water increases your backpack's weight. The double filtration system improves safety. The entire set fits into a convenient, waterproof bag with a drawstring closure. The hydration bladder with tube allows you to comfortably carry your water supply and use it at your campsite. I definitely recommend this product.

I agree with the previous reviewer – the product description doesn't fully match reality (luckily it's mostly in a positive way, apart from the lack of the included cleaning syringe). I tested it for 3 days. I used water from a stream near a village, fairly fast and clean, although many animals use it. After filtering, I still boiled the water. The taste was like bottled water, no odor. I had no stomach problems. It looks like the filter really works – and for 229 PLN you get peace of mind and better-tasting water :P

I'm very satisfied with this purchase. The contents of the package were a bit different than described—it came with a flexible 3L bladder, an 80 cm tube, a 90 cm mounting strap, a carabiner, and a carrying bag. There was no cleaning syringe, but it’s easy to use another one or a mineral water bottle instead. The listed weight is for the whole set; the filter itself weighs 100g. The description didn't specify that the filter provides two-stage filtration and includes two cartridges—microfiber and a replaceable carbon cartridge (according to the included instructions). All the more reason I'm happy I bought this filter during the summer sale.
