Dark balaclava designed in a low-profile form that fits perfectly on the head. Made of fire-resistant and antistatic Nomex fabric from DuPont. Designed for people working in environments with an increased risk of contact with fire and high temperatures.
Safety is a specialized line by Buff, designed for personal protection in the workplace, including in industry, construction, logistics, and uniformed services. Products in this series combine high wearing comfort with certified protection against weather, UV radiation, dust, and fire.
flame-retardant and antistatic Nomex material
Nomex fabric, used to make balaclavas, is resistant to extreme temperatures and flames. It does not melt or sustain a fire, maintaining its protective properties even when heated. The fibers also have antistatic properties, increasing safety in areas at risk of electrostatic discharge.
The fabric used is lightweight and extremely breathable, which translates into comfort in demanding conditions. It effectively wicks moisture away, and is also quick-drying and easy to maintain.
Protective standards
The product complies with the standards for protection against heat and/or flames, in accordance with regulation (EU) 2016/425. Certified on the basis of an EU type test according to the following standards:
- EN ISO 13688:2013 (general requirements for protective clothing)
- EN ISO 11612:2015 (protection against thermal risks, including: flames (A), convective heat (B), radiant heat (C) and contact with hot surfaces (F), with the level of protection depending on the specific product variant).
The product has also been certified as a Personal Protective Equipment, confirming protection against the risks of electric shock. It has been designed to prevent the accumulation of electrostatic charges and possible incendiary discharges. Certification was conducted in accordance with regulation (EU) 2016/425, based on an EU type examination according to the following standards:

- EN 1149-5:2008 and EN 1149-5:2018 (protective clothing against electrostatic charges)
