During warm days, it aids in preventing overheating and excessive sweating, while in colder weather, it protects against heat loss. I fold it in half, which covers my entire ears and most of my head, leaving only the top uncovered. While riding a bike, my head doesn't sweat under the scarf, unlike with a hat. I also recommend using the scarf around your neck.
