Boxmet Medical Chitoclot Hemostatic Dressing

Chitosan gauze with hemostatic effect, developed for the immediate stopping of life-threatening hemorrhages. Intended for use in first aid in combat, rescue operations and emergency situations, e.g. disasters. Proper and safe use requires prior training.

The dressing has bactericidal properties, does not cause thermal effects or burns, and does not stick to the wound. The sterile packaging holds one compressed gauze strip measuring 7.5 cm x 1.8 m. The chitosan in the dressing accelerates the process of hemostasis, initiating rapid blood clotting upon contact with the wound – a clot forms within about 2–3 minutes and does not dissolve even after rinsing with saline. It is effective in controlling heavy and moderate bleeding.
