Badger Outdoor Assault Recon Backpack 40 l - Black

A patrol backpack with a capacity of 40 l, suitable for tourism, survival, and everyday urban use. The carrying system with contoured shoulder straps, a hip belt, and Fastex quick-release buckles ensures high user comfort. Four pockets, two compartments, and the MOLLE attachment system allow for easy organization and expansion of equipment.

 

Storage System - 2 main compartments, multiple pockets

The Recon 40L model includes four main pockets, allowing for optimal organization of gear. Two compartments can hold larger items, such as a sleeping bag, food, or clothing. The larger compartment features an additional flat pocket for small items, secured with a zipper. The smaller compartment has a flat pocket and two mesh pockets, making it easy to organize and quickly find small items.

Two front pockets on the backpack - a larger lower one and a smaller upper one - are intended for small gear items. The lower pocket contains an organizer for documents and keys, while the upper is suitable for carrying a phone, sunglasses, or navigation.

Special pocket for System or Hydration Insert

On the external rear part of the backpack, there is a Velcro-secured compartment designed for a hydration insert. It allows for the convenient carrying of a water supply, while also providing quick access to hydration without needing to remove bottles. This pocket is discreetly placed and well-protected, safeguarding the insert from damage during walks and challenging outdoor activities.

High-Quality Zippers and MOLLE Attachment System

All backpack pockets are secured with thick spiral zippers with double sliders, ensuring smooth and quick opening.

The backpack is equipped with a MOLLE attachment system - straps placed on the front and sides of the backpack enable attaching additional gear. D-rings on the shoulder straps allow for attaching tactical elements.

Compression Straps and Capacity Adjustment

The Recon 40L model allows adjusting its external size to the contents thanks to compression straps located on both sides, the bottom, and the top. Shortening the straps helps compress the backpack, maintaining its stability and neat appearance even when the compartments are partially emptied.

Contoured quick-detach shoulder straps, detachable hip belt

The backpack is equipped with an advanced carrying system, ensuring comfort and stability. Contoured shoulder straps are finished with Fastex-type QD (Quick Detachment) buckles, allowing for rapid removal of the backpack when needed. Adjustment of the shoulder straps allows for a perfect fit to the body, while additional support comes from a chest strap and a detachable hip belt, facilitating the stable carrying of heavier loads.

    At first, it seemed great, but after the second tactical training, shortcomings began to emerge. The drawstrings, which should be secured with stitching, are just cut off, causing the shoulder strap to come undone by itself during walking. After the third training, one of the shoulder straps almost tore off—only the reinforcement saved it. The waist belt came off and got lost due to poorly stitched drawstrings as well. If you want to attach a mat or sleeping bag, it’s difficult; you’ll need to buy additional attachments, as none are included.

    First impression is positive – the backpack has two large compartments, with the biggest one opening along its entire length. It is quite spacious, and the small pocket is perfect for a first aid kit. The zippers seem robust. Unfortunately, a big downside is the drawstrings – none of the straps are secured at the ends, and during use, especially with other gear like a vest, they tend to come undone. After the first use, the supporting waist strap and chest stiffening straps both came off.
